Packers need to get out and play this weekend….. Bengals at home …will have to be a solid commanding performance.

Scraping through by a couple of points won't do….. no excuses please.

Bengals after trading to Flacco. If we lose to that man twice in a few weeks, I'll be bulling. As you said, they really need to lay down a marker here, or there's gonna be serious questions asked of management.

Agree, if they let a 40 year old QB put one over them twice, they might as well forget about the playoffs ,don't mind the SuprBowl.

If they don't leave Flacco black and blue(legally) in the first half it will be another squeaky bum finish.

This game needs to be parcelled in the W column in the first half .

Hopefully MLF will call a better game than last time out with more aggression, because if Flacco gets time and space

he will hurt you. I want at least one faaahking Packers game in the season that I can relax and enjoy.

26-7 at half time will do me🤩

Not over enthused with the win over the Bengals, they couldn’t get to Flacco and gave up a lot of yardage down the middle, which is a failing of GB for years now.

Golden and Doubs along with Jacobs on the ground were the main threats but I was very disappointed Flacco had so much time to pick out his targets.

For me the defence has regressed since games one and two back to their old failings- not harassing the QB and leaving huge gaps up the middle.

Not contenders based on that performance given the strength of their division.

Well a Packers win but the same old problems exist.

    Penalties conceded

    Difficulty converting third downs

Allowing huge yardage third downs when a stop would make a huge difference.

Allowing a TE to gouge them up the middle (mcBride) who also got two TDs.

Got to the back up QB a bit more than the Bengals game

    Hey, look who's next! 🫣

Rodgers has beaten every team, bar the Packers. 🤔

Sketchy first half, some dodgy kicks......and one questionable ref call in our favour on the negative side.

Great play from J-Lo closing it out, Christian Watson back, Tucker Kraft being a baller on Tight End day and the Defense and Offense actually looking in sync on the positive.

With plenty of gratitude for everything AR12 did for us over the years, I'm delighted we stopped him from adding, 'has beat every NFL team' to his resume.

Strange kind of game ,I have to admit.

One would have forecast a Steelers victory at half time but the Packers definitely upped their game

in the second half and ran out easy winners.

I'm not a passionate Packers fan by any means, but I follow their games when I can and saw several games in the early window this year..... My oh my, but they are an overhyped bunch of mediocrity. I keep hearing than (was happening today again) about them being one of the best teams in the league.... Far from it. Again, little energy in attack and several times Carolina ran untouched down the middle of the defence.

May fall into the playoffs, but won't last long.

During le fluers tenure these type of loses are far too common for my liking. That was brutal today. Poor game plan, poor execution, poorly motivated

And not for the first time…just 2 and a half hours of nothing.

Who was to blame for this loss?

    The Offence?

    The Defence?

    The Sideline?

I would apportion blame equally on all three.

Offense persisted with the run game even though it threw up 3rd and longs inevitably.

Far too many mistakes ,poor protection for Qb12, lack of penetration.

Defense: Panthers ran through them like butter, they allowed long drives which chewed up the clock and kept Pack off the field. How many time did the Panthers RBs carve through for big gains ?

The Sideline: poor playcalling , they had several chances to take field goals and it would have mattered in a low score game. LaFleur came under severe criticism on WDUZ phone in after the game.

That’s just general, by and large the Packers are a mediocre team who based on performances up to this will be found out when they hit the local division games later.

Unless they shake up the coaching and game plans of course, they need to loosen up and for the first time look at a change of Head Coach…not mid season but longer term.

Can’t go on with the same auld crap…..time to light things up.

Matt leFluer is under pressure to turn this around. We finally have a defence to be proud of, and the offence is rubbish. Gute can take his share of the blame, moving Jenkins to center hasn't worked and Banks has been poor. The next 3 games against the giants, vikings and lions will decide our faith.

Well, Jenkins won't be playing center for a while…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,384 ✭✭✭cosatron

fracture leg, poor lad. His a really good guard, sub par center.

Yes this season is at a crossroads for the Packers….

As said above next three games will tell us a lot.

Run game has gone flat…Redzone production has dried up…. Changes needed to get this team back in form.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,778 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

In fairness, the last 3 games tell all we need to know - going to the playoff probably but probably on the road and the first good team they play will knock them out.

They are mediocre at best with a soft belly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,278 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

Yes cannot disagree too much there, however I feel their backs are to the wall now and a win vs the Giants

Could re set the dial.More of the same could consign them to outside the playoffs. One would have to consider

could they win against any of the Vikes, Bears, or Lions?

O-line which looked so solid at the season start is a shambles now with injuries .

    Big turn around needed.

Mistake after mistake after drops and more drops …. Terrible rubbish…….

Only time Packers looked solid was when Willis was at the controls…..

    Half time now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,278 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

Well they got the win and it was a lucky one, two great contested catches from Watson really sealed the deal.

Was impressed with Wilson the back up RB, kept us in the game when Jacobs went down.

What would concern me is the inability of the Packers D to get a stop and force three and outs on a regular basis.

Giants had at least 4 double digit drives during the game and given their overall stats should have won the game.

    Tough times ahead.

Almost 50F in Green Bay for Vikes game which is vital for Vikings and very important for Packers.

    What the Packers cannot do:

Allow Vikes to dominate time of possession with double digit drive times.

Allow JJ time in the pocket

Give up big third down plays down the middle

Make the same key mistakes they have made most of the season

Allow Jefferson the freedom of the field

Drop the rock on D and O.

That should produce a win. 30 to 23

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,278 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

Cleanest game the Packers have played for some time.

Excellent win, and all sides of the team O and D and ST all performed well.

Did what they had to do…….now make no mistake The Lions will be a much tougher but to crack.

Will be very difficult to beat on Thanksgiving Day………have a lot of weapons on both sides of the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,384 ✭✭✭cosatron

played really well with thursday night in mind. the center played well, we seem to get a good push up the middle. Wilson will be a nice complement to Jacobs. The defence is just awesome. Parson is a different level, his just relentless. Hopefully quay walker will be back for the lions. Gibbs is tricky.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,143 ✭✭✭Fionn1952

There were still a few worries in the first half, but keeping the Vikings without a TD and actually being relaxed during the 4th was pretty nice. Special Teams doing anything positive is an unusual feeling.

I had high hopes early in the season that have dropped a lot in the last few weeks......I'll have to see how the Lions game goes before I'm ready to hope again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,278 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

Yes this game will tell a lot, Pack will have to shut down those two gnats StBrown and Gibbs.

Then there’s Goff a good QB and that tool LaPorte.

To be honest can’t see a win here.. Would be extremely surprised if it happened although only

a bad play call stopped the Giants from beating them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 16,307 ✭✭✭✭Pherekydes

LaPorta the TE? He's out for a while yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,278 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

Didn't realise he was out Pee, Pack will have to be at their best to win this one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,278 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

And they were…. Certainly best game so far this year, I would guess, with both sides of the ball playing very well.

A very impressive week for the Pack. Bit of a break now before the Bears. The new and improved Bears. Still in the thick of it.

It was, but remains to be seen is there any substance behind it, or a dead cats bounce.
