I know how bad/congested the M50 is, so my question is what are the government agencies planning for the future of this and other motorways to cope with the growing expansion of our roads? The workers are spending hours on the M50, paying excessive tolls, more tax on fuel and the purchase of cars, getting little in return ,

Only thing likely is more tolling.

Extra lanes beyond 3 running lanes each side don't actually fix anything, although someone may be along to demand it gets turned in to a 12 laner.

Orbital bus routes and looking at something to replace the long shelved Metro West plans are the other plans - not more roads.

Tolls I believe covering the whole of the M50, and you pay for the parts you use.

They are not going to double deck it, not enough space.

Busconnects, Dart plus, Metro are planned to help move people to public transport.

Or, the government could come up with a less mealy mouthed bit of legislation about working from home to actually get some off the roads

We need more infrastructure not buses.

Minister for transport to announce upgrade for the M50 which will run parallel to the existing motorway.

Work to begin in 2035 after surverys have been completed.
