    it’s a nice looking car.

    Not coming until 2026 though and performance figures are poor enough. Is it not a bit late to the party?

    Its not really a mazda, in that, its made by a Chinese company and a Mazda badge is slapped onto it.

    Its also very late to the party, which is a pity as Mazda used to make some very nice looking and driving cars.

    At least it's not another SUV.

    Built in China and has been on sale there for the last 2 years. EU tariffs will push the price up here closer to 50k I'd say.

    EU tariffs and dealer greed. Paying over a grand extra so a salesperson can show me the different colours available 😄. Sooner brands move to direct sales, the better. And small brands like Mazda may have to.

    Lovely car tbh. Above VW , below Audi in class. But why the delay?

    Won't sell well here unless it has some sort of USP, price, performance, space, it needs something to set it apart.

    Wrong body style, almost forgotten brand in this country now. Up against a much more powerful Seal and Tesla for same price. It's traditional rivals Primera, Avensis, Mondeo, Passat all gone and no sign of reappearing as EVs.

    That said, nice car, loved the 6 when it came out in mid 2010s, almost bought one in that red colour.

    Unlikely too many would want one of these ahead of say an ID7 or even a BYD Seal. Mazda badge doesn’t help with resale here either.

    no wonder the stats are unimpressive if it’s already a two year old design.

    Looks great but will do very little to improve Mazda sales overall here or elsewhere.

    I have noticed a lot of Mazda around recently. Mainly the CX models. A lot of premium Volvo, German etc are in six figure territory so the CX and other like Santa Fe/Sorrento are gaining.

    I would, based on how this looks.

    VW is a rotting company, and BYD is subsidised by the commies. The Seal was such a disappointment when I test drove it, such numb steering, and an awful interior. Looks nice on the outside, but this 6 looks even better, interior looks decent too.

    I would say the complete opposite. The fact that there's little competition in the saloon segment gives this a decent chance. I'd imagine that there's plenty of people who aren't familiar with/scared of Tesla/BYD, and don't have the money for the ID7, so this is a possible alternative from a "traditional" brand they recognise.

    The fact that the Model 3 is one of the best selling models in the country suggests that it's not "the wrong body style".

    One I definitely did not see coming in 2025 was the Mazda 6e. Range of up to 555km, I got a quick look around it at the Brussels Motor Show last week. Mazda Soul Red is such a great colour.

    That 3 accounts for a huge proportion of the market for that body type. Plus tesla have their cult following in a way no other brand has. In fairness they have great tech and charging I couldn't fault anyone for buying one.

    Put body type v body type sales figures against each other and it's a different story. Hatchback style openings may help bring the sales back against SUV though. I hope it does, but don't see a mazda 6 doing it in Ireland unless it has a price advantage

    I don't think so either. I can't see the market for it, brand has faded from view completely. Was never a market leader anyway, even if I did quite like the most recent mazda 6. Thought it was quite a stylish car, don't see many left driving around where I am anyway

    Mazda have been showing growth in the US, UK and Europe over the last year. Maybe not great here, but elsewhere they're growing.

    It is a very nice looking car.

    Far better than many of the bulbous EV designs you see across the brands. If it can match ID.7 liftback for space and undercut it in price, it may do well, especially in the company car market.

    I've driven MX-30, CX-60 and CX-30 and one thing they have in common is a very nice interior quality with a good balance of touch materials with old school tech that doesn't overpower the binnacle or cause too much night glare.

    If that standard carries over to the 6E, it should attract curiousity at least.

    Maybe but even the Mazda dealer network in Ireland is very weak compared to what it was. Most of the big names in good locations got out of Mazda a long while back.

    My mazda 6 max spec was probably the best car I have had. Zero issues with it ever and damn it was smooth to drive.
    Then the wife totalled it 3 days after it was serviced.

    Saved her life so will always have a special place in my heart.
    Would have been dead if she drove her own car.

    I would have zero problem getting this ( It looks amazing ) but going to wait anther couple of years and see what the market looks like.

    I've been seeing loads of these in Asia. They are a seriously nice car. Much bigger than a Model 3 for example. I'd say they will depreciate like a rock tho

    It's essentially a Chinese EV built by Changan? A very risky choice to buy new. A Model 3 or BYD Seal would be a far safer choice. But probably a fine car underneath so could be a decent second hand buy, agree with you. Time will tell, but a 2-3 year old one of these for about €15k will make a lot of sense. Or cheaper again should Mazda have gone bankrupt

    Certainly one of the nicer looking EVs.

    Great to see a nice looking saloon in a sea of horrible identikit EV SUVs/crossovers.

    One thing that would put me off is the lack of physical buttons in favour of everything on a screen.I think this should be outlawed,it's very dangerous.

    I recently had a android head unit fitted to my car and spend way too much time looking at it and fiddling with it.
