I knew as soon the goal went in that was that, shocking how this team doesn't surprise me anymore.

No plan B is killing this team, Palace, West Ham and others just have to replicate what Moyes did tonight and they will win.... The system works sometimes as we've seen but when it doesn't he won't change. A 433 would suit this team I reckon

Playing 5 at the back against 10 men is just stupid. Amorim is such an asshole sometimes.

Also if Mainoo somehow wants to get to the world cup he'd be best off pestering his agent to send Tuchel Youtube compilations hourly. He needs to make it on reputation because playing sure as fùck wont get him picked.

9 points from the next 12 or I'd probably get rid of him, it's been a year now and not much improvement.

Second time now in a few games that Amorim has criticised the intensity of the team… he did the same in the draw with Forest.

Not sure when the penny will drop but the lack of intensity is a player problem but also a manager problem. Make some early subs if lads aren't putting it in ffs.

A few lads in here seem to have been sniffing glue with a few lucky results and talking about top 4 etc.

If you look at results since the Grimsby shambles:

Burnley - W last minute penalty. Promoted team Amorim special

    City - L embarrassment

Chelsea - W but they were down to 10 men since the fifth minute

Brentford - L to a rookie manager & team that sold all of their best players

Sunderland - W Promoted team Amorim special

Liverpool - W Good result I'll give him this one. But Liverpool are in free fall, spent half a bil to make the champions worse. Must have secretly hired EtH as sporting director.

Brighton - W Yeah good result but it's Brighton

Forest - D Against a team firmly in the relegation zone at the time

    Spurs - D yeah it's Spurs

Everton - L. At home. Against 10 men.

Nothing there suggests any sort of corner turned. Amorim is lucky that slim Jim doesn't seem to have a bean to his name and the banks are coming for his chemical empire. Otherwise he'd be gone this morning without doubt. Many more grim years lie ahead.

Most of the united fans here a proper whingers

if i told you before the start of the season we would be ahead of Liverpool, 4 points off Man City and 3 points of Champions league we would be having a great season.

For a lot if these games we have been short of 3 starters every match

United are having a great season believe in Ruben.

You didn't have to look past the starting 11 to see that they might lack "intensity".

I thought Zirkzee was going to start crying when Tarkowski roughed him up a couple of times. Everton and Moyes must have been delighted to see that starting line up.

The bench is poor but you need to send a message to players if you don't think they're starting games in the right mindset. Bruno and Zirkzee were prime contenders for being hooked off after 35 minutes, regardless of how sh1te the subs would have been (and they probably would have been), a message should have been sent out.

Really frustrating hearing him talking about a lack of intensity... That is a huge part of his own job, he should be able to control that in the build up to games and during them.

As I said when the comments were made post Forest... If we're struggling with intensity whilst playing one game a week, then there are huge issues.

Horse manure. We will do very well to get a European spot this season if we keep this spoofer in charge.

Is there anything to be said for putting in a bid for Troy Parrott in January?

    This too shall pass.

Even without wanting him to change formation last night, as soon as Everton went down to 10 we should have been moving Amad to RWB and bringing Mount on - go offensive rather than staying defensive (on top of the fact we'd been terrible in the opening 15minutes or whatever it was as well). I'd have taken Mazraoiu off to accomplish that, as we did at HT, but on reflection Yoro should have made way - and then we ask Mazraoui and Shaw to actually push forward.

I thought so many players were terrible last night - Bruno and Casemiro didn't make a tackle between them in the first half. Not saying that in hyperbole. that ACTUALLY didn't make a tackle. Yoro was terrible on the ball, all night, and weak on their goal. Zirkzee was shocking in build up play, from minute one. Mbeumo had an absolute stinker. Amad was poor at 10, Dorgu terrible etc etc.

So I don't think it is all on Amorim, as there is no way he told them to play so far off everton, and jog about for 70minutes.

But at the same time, Amorim selected Mazraoui at wing back. Amorim continually selects Bruno at 8. Amorim moves our only attacking wing back option out of the positions at the first sign of any selection issuses. Amorim started Zirkzee (ok, imo) and didn't even put Chido on the bench. Amorim decided to stick with 3cbs, a full back, a poor wingback and a defensive midfieder for the first half when up a man. Amorim indulged Bruno, again. Amorim did nothing to change the shape or aggression of the side.

The players were crap, the manager did nothing to change the narrative.

    So fed up.

The heady days of 3 wins in a row feels so long ago, with the performances getting steadily worse from Forest to last night.

No Plan B - Spurs final last year, I'll never forget it.

Honest interviews at the end of games - I don't care. I can give honest interviews. "we got nothing right today" "intensity was low" "nowhere near" " we have a lot to do" " we have to improve".

Last night really pissed me off. Shaw. More intensity in my big toe when I'm sleeping. Dorgu is not there yet and might never get there. Strange signing. Mazrouri has gone backwards. Dalot has 5 bad games for everyone okay one.

I've had it with this wing backs shīt and them being shīt.

We need more strength in dept up front, half decent full backs at least, two CMs and dare I say it a less stubborn manager.

And yes, Troy Parrott improves us. That's were we're at right now.

We play like Irish team now but with better players.

The difference is we can't score from crosses

Last night was wake up call. We are blessed we are not in Europe.

was a bit in the first half where Dorgu was tracking back, the ball was played to the Everton winger (number 10 i think) on the run in the box and Dorgu SLOWED DOWN instead of keeping on the run to try block the cross. I freakin' lost it. And that was emblematic of the team performance all night, imo.

And when Sesko is on the pitch we hardly cross it.

Dorgu seems like the new Malacia.

Just need a new team again. Rinse and repeat.

The whole team were awful. Bruno was awful, as he has been all season, and he’s become a real problem in our midfield. Zirkzee did okay for someone who had their first start, but he kept dropping far too deep throughout the match. We should move him on and try to bring in Ivan Toney or someone else.

Amad and Mbeumo were like lost kids down the right side.

Everything was so off last night.

There's no intensity, no precision in the play. There's no one taking responsibility or accountability for poor play, the goal epitomized that, he waltzed through barely touched.

They've made it to United, made the big time, big contract, all done…swan around now and enjoy life.

I would have Mount as the first name on the team sheet, he sets a tone, he gives his all and things definitely improved when he came on.

Also, how in fook are we one injury to Sesko away from having no striker? Man United had no striker last night….with all the money spent.

12 hrs later and honestly its just so disheartening. We can argue over who was poor and this player did this wrong or stood in this spot when they should have been over there, we can blame the manager, we can blame the system and the formation and the weather and the grass and everything else. Ultimately we had 11 players vs 10 players for 80 mins last night and didn't score. For me thats a failure of the players, just like Grimsby was a failure of the players. I'm not gonna argue with anyone that wants to blame Amorim or call him a spoofer or blame Bruno and call him the worst captain of all time or blame anyone else. I'm just pissed off that it felt like we were heading in the right direction, alot of positive results and momentum and then that performance. Its just draining as a fan

Reading back the comments everyone has views on who was bad last night and nearly everyone was named .

The lack of intensity from minute one was the most frustrating as how can they not get up for a match like that is unbelievable.

Coming into the match there was huge positivity and a lot of teams around us after losing at the weekend so we should have been at it from the start but we never turned up at all.

Pundits go on and on about tactics and formations but on a night like that Keane is right, just bring a bit of heart , passion and pride in the jersey.

I'd call back Harry Amass from his loan. Think he'd be better. He's 19 in March so not too young.

The AFCON will screw us also.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,918 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

a second striker, 2 CMs and a LWB are needed in the next two windows, looking at the team as it is.

    Welbeck, Wharton, Gomes, Semenyo?

I won't criticise the summer gone too much, but wasting the January window last year by only getting on player, is haunting us. And I fear we will see the same again this January, we will claim we can't buy anyone we want, without actually trying to buy them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,746 ✭✭✭Iseedeadpixels

Its standard with this team, like Grimsby they got cocky and thought they'd win with ease.

    Weak mentalities all round.

Twenty years today since we lost the greatest footballer of all time,in my opinion!

Until we get someone in i think a midfield 2 of Casemiro/Ugarte/Mainoo needs to be tried. It's still not what we need but at least we'd have players in there that can play the midfield role better than Bruno. It's not going to solve our issues completely and will probably leave us exposed in other areas but he needs to try something different.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"
