Australia wobbling here, 30/3, Smith and Labuschagne out.

Smith gone, 3 down, this will be over by Sunday at this rate

Khawaja gone, 31/4. The fears about the Australian top order laid bare here..

Stupid shot by Head particularly in the context of the game.

Green gone now, abysmal by Australia though England have been excellent with the ball. Every chance England get a first innings lead at this rate which didn't seem probable..

Shocking batting by Australia, Starc and Carey just threw their wickets away. They're still 51 behind what was a low England total..

Wow, this is the most wickets taken in a day of an Ashes Test since 1909 where both teams were all out in the same day.

Australia top order problems aren't going anywhere. Weatherald ok, that can always happen. But Labuschagne was said to have turned a corner and was batting more positively but he was back to stinking the place out. Doubt Khawaja makes it to Sydney.

Credit must go to the England bowlers as well though. No let up from any of them and made the most of the bowling friendly conditions

couldn’t believe it waking up and seeing that score by the Aussies. England have to be ruthless in the morning, on the money, nothing careless…no wides / no balls or other freebies , just nab that last wicket… lead of about 40 say and try bat up to get a good defendable lead… what a good defendable lead is I’ve literally no clue ? 🤷🏻

Stokes with 5/23 from 6 overs 😎. Some going.

A stunning 1st day, woke at 4am to see England in trouble and I feared for the series. Listened to the rest in work, gotta love how things can turn around.

Anyway, England 3 nil and Root to pick a double tonne somewhere along the way.

Stokes to retire from test cricket.
