I bought this basic microwave in Harvey Norman today. The platter does not rotate. Have I been sold a dud? Or is the rotating platter not a feature of cheaper machines.

Usually if there is a glass plate and the little plastic ring with wheels it should turn, the microwaves that have no turntable have just a flat floor in them with nothing on it.

Is it possible there is tape or something holding the platter in place (for while it was in transit) that has to be removed?

If there is a platter I would expect it to rotate for more even cooking.
