having seen the ‘TRAPPINGS’ surroundings the Saudi Arabian’s head of state visit to the US eg that red carpet and the press conference where Trump stated that the prince knew NOTHING about the killing of Khagossi, causing a reporter to have more respect for our guest, etc, etc, etc we all categorised Trump as being very ’ TRANSACTIONAL ‘

So after the above performance I think that we need to come up with another ‘ adjective’ to replace the word ‘transactional’ . He is more than transactional

Trump Ukraine envoy Keith Kellogg to step down in January.

Bad news for Ukraine as he is a big supporter.

Can we even crew a ship to shadow it these days?

In Russia, the ‘close ties’ between religion ie the Russian Orthodox Church and the ‘political establishment ‘ there has been the case for hundreds of years. Those ties are essential for the continual establishing of the dictatorship there so it is very much part of the various leaders’ strategy over time immemorial.

To help understand this - as one man’s point of view on the subject- there is an excellent u tube on it . Google

Martti Kari , retired intelligence colonel Finnish army u tube. It’ just over one hour long . He did a PHd on the subject. He worked out of the Finnish embassy in Russia for 10yrs

I found it well presented and a riveting ‘read’ .
you can make up your own mind after having seen it whether it is an accurate description or not

We should genuinely approach the Ukrainians about purchasing some of their maritime drones. They proven to be effective against the Russian navy in the Black Sea so surely they could be useful in defending our Atlantic coast?

By now "transactional" is a euphemism on the same level as a word that some Trump supporters use when faced with examples of his crudity and lowlife vulgarity. They admit that he can be "brash".

I’m so pissed off that the Europeans have allowed the compromised US to continue positioning themselves as leaders in the regard. They should have taken the initiative and by-passed the US a year ago and avoided this bullsh!t. Come up with their own adult version of a settlement. Instead they’ve allowed the amoral man baby to act as the world’s daddy.

Just confirms what we've known all along.

Witkoff is a stooge of Trump and Trump is a ruzzian asset.

You forgot to mention that Russian will become the official language of these states.

It looks like history is starting up again.

So pretty much rinse and repeat of previous "Peace" "Plans" that went nowhere. I had an feeling that's how it would be given how excited the "Cauldron Club" were getting for this.

Something I've been thinking about of late.. Why is the US administration so eager to get a peace deal in Ukraine (even if such a deal were to involve absolute capitulation by Ukraine and giving Russia everything it wants).

The Trump admin has demonstrated time and time again, all it cares about is the dollar.. So given the token value of trade that takes place between the U.S and Russia, what's really in it for the U.S administration? Yeah it might lead to an increase in trade but an increase in an already negligible amount.

So what's their motivation for achieving a peace deal?

It's certainly not for the welfare of the Ukrainian people…

I feel the urge to repeat the entirity of my usual PSA from the Trump thread, but the TL:DR of it is: Donnie doesn't care. Donnie is only about Donnie and in that he's only about whatever enriches him personally and/or gains him clout.

There is no plan, just something Donnie hopes will maybe make him look good and eventually lead to a Trump Tower in Moscow or some such BS. Althernativly, Donnie needs a distraction from Epstein and this (along with Venezuela) might fit the bill nicely.

But don't mistake anything done by Donnie or his best people to be anything related to a concise or thought out plan. Sure enough some gouls in there are smart enough to plan ahead, but anything else in Donnie's orbit is tainted with fecklessness of the highest degree. The only reason the US continues to function at all is thanks to whatever remained of the Federal administration after Elon's DOGE nonsense.

Beyond that the State is essentially headless until a grown-up assumes the Office.

So what's their motivation for achieving a peace deal?

    a cut of the spoils.

what's really in it for the U.S administration?

criminals doing deals with other criminals in order to make vast sums of money for them, and their vested interests/friends.

Thejournal reports that Ukraine would half its army under these proposals.

French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Barrot saying that peace cannot mean Ukrainian capitulation.

Polish ambassador to Russia has been assaulted by so called protesters in Moscows Nevsky Prospekt.

And a feather in the cap so Donnie can get his (un)noble peace prize. Its all about the Don.

That article contradicts itself. The headline says it entered British waters (the 12 nautical miles zone) but the article states that the ship is outside that zone off the northern coast of Scotland. I wonder if any spy satellites flew over Britain yesterday or today?

A Russian spy ship has entered British waters and directed lasers at military pilots, Britain’s defense secretary said Wednesday, as he warned that the country was facing a “new era of threat” from hostile actors.

During a speech in London, John Healey said the Yantar spy ship was currently on the edge of British waters, north of Scotland, and that the ship was designed for “gathering intelligence and mapping Britain’s undersea cables.”

It's easy sitting in our warm houses and workplaces to forget the brutality of actual warfare. Today Ukraine received the bodies of 1,000 dead soldiers. The same report stated that in return Russia received the bodies of 30 dead soldiers.

Most of us will not have experienced it, but we are aware that many, including Ukrainian civilians, are subjected to that brutality at the hands of Russian agressors. So it's not easy to forget - we are reminded of it and sickened by it on a daily basis.

It's yet another slap in the face for the Europeans and totally humiliating that again they weren't consulted at all and the only response, as usual, seems to be very mild rebuke along the lines of "any peace plan will only work with European and Ukrainian consent". Whereas the message not just from Russia but also from the US is very clearly "you people don't matter, we don't care about your opinion". Where is the goddamn self respect and courage among EU leaders to stand up to these people? I know it can't happen over night but it's nearly 4 years since the war began and Europe still seems to be a total irrelevancy on the world stage on every issue apart from trade, but it's afraid to use trade as a weapon. So, so frustrating. Russia CANNOT be allowed get away with this but that's very much how it's looking

Irrelevancy is the key word. I have been almost 'devoured' for suggesting that on certain social occasions. No matter what whimsical notion Trump has, Europe trots on behind him nodding or most pathetically referring to him as 'Daddy'. what has happened the Coalition of the Willing? Apart from the Ukraine situation, all this makes one worry for the future of the EU itself, a body that our peace and prosperity depends on.

Geo located footage of Russian troops now in the centre of Siversk after entering the town a couple of days ago.

Good news on the peace front after talks with the US generals today. Looks like Zelensky is willing to consider Trumps plan that was presented to him.

Accepting any form of this "peace" deal, which was clearly written by Putin, is a surrender.

Why would Ukraine surrendering be "good news" @brickster69 ?

Are you celebrating this news because you think your RF friends would find it easier to rape, kidnap and murder Ukrainian civilians under the terms of such a surrender instead of being rightfully slaughtered for it by Ukrainian Armed Forces defending their nation?

While they might find it easier to commit their atrocities if they could force Zelensky's administration to sign their bullshit "peace deal", it still won't be easy as Ukrainian patriots would certainly carry on with a guerilla resistance for as long as the Russian bastards you so admire are on their land and brutalising their people.

Fake. They are actually Russian troops in the center of Liverpool (England). They were all arrested by the police.

It looks like history is starting up again.
