    ______

In the end they were just greedy, they all knew one another and knew what to expect more money for no return, it was a secure cash flow, but in fairness they looked for what they wanted and fair dues to them for that, and wouldn't you be doing the same!

Just one more thing .... when did they return that car

I disagree about the O'Callaghan point. McC came straight back to Yates saying Miriam doesn't have a financial interest in Jim.

I think it was a good interview and McC accurately showed up Yates for the bluffer that he is. Yates's overall argument is that he is the arbiter of whether he's right and no one else.

McC summer it up well when he put it to Yates that he was asking the politicians the hard questions having already coached them on how to answer the hard questions.

I actually said in my post that anyone can disagree with what you decide based on your own moral compass.

As for the law abiding Austrian, I'll leave you to it ,you brought him into the discussion.

Is Gary Murphy from DCU an RTE resident pundit or what. He seems to be forever on the radio.

What active politicians was Ivan Yates aaking questions of? And whoever said David McC caught him out as a bluffer? Sure he openly and regularly describes himself as a blowhard and a bluffer. Its current affairs entertainment essentially, everytime it was put to him he was a journalist he aggressively rejected it. Two years he never once said he was a journalist when Cooper said it to him on the pod.

To me anyway its Matt Cooper who comes out of this looking a bit holier than thou and with egg on his face for spoiling what was an entertaining show.

Yeah, McC did raise those points, but I don't think he made enough of them - he could and probably should have nailed Yates on those. I don't think he landed any big shots on Yates that knocked him off his stride.

Just my opinion - others may feel different.

I've no affection for Yates. Even though - IMO - he did well in the actual interview, I would have zero respect for him as an individual.

I just listened on my lunch there and full disclosure, I like Ivan on radio and was a paid subscriber to P2P (no longer one now he's left). I think he did well and is right, really blown up in media circles do many outside that care. I'll miss the podcast as I did enjoy it, he didn't give a fiddlers and I genuinely liked the banter. Matt has now come out as a petulant squeaky (thanks Callans Kicks) little brat.

I'm not mad about DMcC so far, I used to switch between Pat and Claire depending on the topic, he just seemed a bit giddy chatting to Ivan, will give him time to find his feet.

Daithi McCullagh got a new one ripped out by Patrick O’Donovan this morning.

Rattled him off his smug perch.

I didn't hear all of today's show but what I heard was pretty good.

You'll probably find what you're looking for here.

I'd say nothing was mentioned about you know that stuff in the past. But I will never know.

I don't, I argue that they have little to change and are always learning from the past successes.

Really? I thought both of them were pretty bad in their own ways tbh.

DmcC asked some pretty stupid questions and P O'D largely stuttered his way through and talked and talked, when it would have just been easier to easily answer the lame attempts at gotchas.

David Mc said he left X the other day. Gavan Reilly left X as well.

Is our own media the only ones leaving X over this?

It seems all a bit bizarre and cringey that our little rubbish media are taking a stand. This despite the fact that all the social media companies are based here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 19,226 ✭✭✭✭elperello

They have decided to leave as individuals.

There's quite a lot of anti X feeling worldwide for some time with organised boycotts being a feature.

    Who's boycotting Twitter/X and Tesla? | Ethical Consumer https://share.google/6P00pE2kZHjRVYTDu

The GROK controversy has brought X back into the spotlight.

I don't agree with your claim that our media is "rubbish".

The people against X hate the anonymous accounts so I suspect they won't like the anonymity that boards offers.

I only had it on in the background earlier but was the contributor made aware of the irony of wearing a Led Zeppelin t-shirt when doing a piece on plagiarism in music??

Any tool going around in any kind of “teeshirt” in this weather would not have the brain cells to get the irony.
