Pro tip - if you go on your hollybops to Lebanon, don't do anything daft like hold a camera, eat an ice cream, walk suspiciously or wear a hat. You'll be exterminated. Legitimately.

The Lebanese Health Ministry said Saturday that one person had been killed and four people were wounded in an Israeli strike on a vehicle in the town of Baraashit in the country's south.

The IDF said the strike killed a Hezbollah militant acting to rebuild the organization's military presence in the area.

Update from Sde Teiman concentration camp. Will Sde Teiman be mentioned in the same sentences as Dachau and Auschwitz

Moreover, doctors in Khan Younis who examined the bodies said both autopsies and field observations “clearly indicate that Israel carried out acts of murder, summary executions and systematic torture against many of the Palestinians.” Health officials reported “clear signs of direct gunfire at point-blank range and bodies crushed beneath Israeli tank tracks.”

Eyad Barhoum, administrative director of the Nasser Medical Complex, said the bodies arrived “with no names but just codes,” adding that the process of identifying them had begun.

Evidence strongly suggests that many of the Palestinians were executed. Sde Teiman serves both as a detention camp notorious for deaths in custody and as a storage site for bodies abducted from Gaza. Human rights groups are calling for an investigation to determine how many victims died at the facility.

She should be proud of what she did and should get recognition from the US and other Western cowards to give her more belief in the importance of her actions.

Former military prosecutor Major General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi was hospitalized following a suspected drug overdose at her home, Israeli media reported.

A new report published on Friday in the leading peer-reviewed medical journal The BMJ details extensive evidence of torture and inhumane treatment of Palestinians held in Israeli detention sites since 2023, including accusations of complicity by Israeli health workers.

The report, co-authored by physicians and medical experts including Dr. Sara el-Solh and Norwegian doctor and professor Mads Gilbert, cites multiple documented cases of physical, psychological, and sexual violence against Palestinian detainees.

The report states that “at least 75 Palestinians—including children—have died or been killed while held in Israeli detention since October 2023”, citing United Nations data. Survivors detained without charge described “repeated beatings and horrific conditions,” according to the authors.

The authors note that torture of Palestinian detainees has been acknowledged by Israeli authorities in the past. The report cites a finding that torture has been used “systematically” against Palestinian detainees, referencing an Israeli government admission previously documented by The Guardian.

The FAI have said they would play Israel if they had to. This despite them putting forward a motion to have them banned from all competition. Just shows that their motion is just virtue signalling. Like many govts, they're prepared to talk the talk, but not walk the walk!

I don't read it like that.

The proposal for the vote cited two alleged violations of UEFA statutes by the Israel Football Association (IFA): organising clubs in occupied Palestinian territories without the consent of the Palestinian FA; and the alleged failure of the IFA to enforce an effective anti-racism policy.

The FAI are are submitting a motion to UEFA to ban Israel on the two grounds stated. So currently, there is no ban. So per the rules as they are, Irish clubs etc have to play matches they are drawn in.

Not surprising - Israel has been fuc*ing the Palestinians in public for years.

    I dont really care

    And yet here you are.

Also, no I don't agree with you. Not only do I think that Israel shouldn't be in any European or global sporting event or, indeed, any type of event, I think they should be sanctioned heavily too for what they're doing to innocent people.

It is a criminal, rapacious, state that's in desperate need of a lesson in how to act in a civilised manner.

The two approaches are not inconsistent. Refusing to fulfil a UEFA fixture (or two fixtures) would presumably mean Ireland being expelled from the competition i.e. for breaching UEFA rules. The reasons the FAI put forward yesterday in their motion were entirely legalistic ones and based on the UEFA rulebook. Therefore both approaches are legal and within UEFA rules : calling for Israel to be excluded (legally) but also saying they would fulfil any such fixtures if required to do so.

But what about strength of conviction?

If the FAI really think Irseal should be ostracized for their actions in Gaza and elsewhere and they don't get them banned then they should follow through and not play them regardless of the consequences.

Take whatever ban is coming if they really feel strongly about Israel.

I know they won't do it because it's the FAI, but I would certainly applaud them.

Israel needing to be thought a lesson would mean some other country coming in and blowing the **** out of it.I don't think the third reich folded because they were banned from International sport.Yugoslavia were banned from euro 92 yet they helped perpetuate even greater atrocities after that .

Again removing the soccer team is pointless and won't make a blind bit of difference to Israel, it's just pointless posturing.

Do you think a country which has done what they have over the past couple of years would really be bothered about a few sporting sanctions, it's once again evidence of Ireland's addiction to pointless virtue signalling.

I don't really care what happens, if Israel were banned for life from all international sport it wouldn't bother me and it won't impact any international sport (unlike banning Russia and Belarus) as it's not exactly a hotbed of sporting talent. I'm just pointing out how pointless what the FAI have done, because A) UEFA are not going to do anything and B) you're punishing sportspeople for something their government has done.

Again, it's not pointless, I've already given some reasons why it is a valid act. Here's another.

It shows that there is an intent to hold Israel to account (this is why Israel and their supporters push back so strongly against things like this). If people/organisations/governments see that measures can and are being taken against them, they are more likely to consider doing similar. This can be 1 step in making that happen.

If you think it doesn't make a blind bit of difference, why do you think supporters of Israel get animated when things like this happen?

Because the people who have an obsessive love for Israel are nuts generally, they can't stand even the mildest criticism of them, its basically a religion for them .

Bingo. And this is a way to push back on that and let them know that they cannot just behave as they wish.

It's not that in and of itself, but it's a step in the right direction, much the same as the ladies refusing to handle South African oranges in Dunnes didn't end apartheid, their actions and similar by many more played a part in that happening.

Poor Timmie has resigned from the BBC….apparently over ‘doctoring’ a Donie Trump speech.

Just shows one that one cannot take anything ‘as gospel’ in conflict situations.

The US lies in support of ethnic cleansing and a Greater Israel as much as Israel does.

Mexican authorities rejected on 8 November US and Israeli claims of an Iranian plot to assassinate the Israeli ambassador to the Latin American nation.

Mexico's foreign relations and security ministries issued a brief joint statement saying that "they have no report with respect to a supposed attempt against the ambassador of Israel in Mexico."

Kicking a country out of sport isn't going to stop a war or human rights abuses for sure, but what about solidarity for the victims in Gaza?

Sure, Gazans are worrying about where they will get their next meal, how they can find missing loved ones, how to get shelter and medicine etc, and the last thing on their mind is Uefa or FIFA. But imagine all this happening to them, and the hopelessness knowing the rest of the world see that level of inhumanity against them as normal.

A sport boycott, however small, is a signal their suffering isn't being ignored. It won't feed them or protect them, but could be some form or validation for them that the enormous footballing world, as opposed to governments, acknowledges their suffering.

For example, South Africans who suffered under apartheid said sports boycotts mattered a lot as it showed that lots of people in the world stood by them, even if diplomatically governments did not.

How do you arrive at the BBC report on Trump as being related to a "conflict zone"?

And I agree with you - the IDF and Israel cannot help but lie about pretty much everything.

The difference with the BBC is they take the bone fides of their reporting as very serious matters. When mistakes are made, severe action is taken.

I don't recall the IDF apologising for lying through their teeth about executing 15 medics then burying them and their vehicles in the sand.

The latest perfect example is Israel excoriating the IDF lawyer for releasing a video of the IDF anally raping a prisoner. Tumbleweed about those who buggered the Palestinian.

You've posted links to reports to support whatever point you trying to make. The hypocrisy is palpable.

Seems the US definitely don't trust Israel. Perhaps they see the writing on the ICJ wall.

"What is becoming increasingly clear, despite the tensions surrounding the implementation of Trump's cease-fire agreement, is the Americans' determination to enforce its terms.

The head of U.S. Central Command, or CENTCOM, Admiral Brad Cooper, visited Israel over the weekend to ensure that the new American command center in Kiryat Gat, which coordinates with the IDF, is operating properly.

Additionally, as reported by The Washington Post, the Trump administration plans to oversee the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and not leave it under Israeli control"

More Israeli censorship - seems they realise they really need to tighten up to avoid the truth coming out.

Defense Minister Israel Katz has ordered the IDF's spokesperson to halt all interviews and briefings given by senior commanders to journalists, and to seek his approval for every media briefing or update – a reversal of a long-standing practice.

Military sources told Haaretz that the new directive comes after Katz was furious at media reports quoting defense officials who downplayed Israel's achievements in the war, and claimed they were not involved in the details of the cease-fire agreement in Gaza.

Seems the Settlers are emboldened now they won't get to annex Gaza. They just take the West Bank instead - which the Knesset agrees with of course.

Dozens of settlers raided the Palestinian village of Jaba on Sunday morning, setting a structure on fire and burning tires, residents told Haaretz, with one adding that the assailants fled once police arrived at the scene and could not be identified because their faces were covered. "We cannot sleep from the fear that they will set fire to our houses with our children inside," he added.

    Israel doubling down on Turkey.

I'd imagine if a flight carrying alleged War Criminal #1 (at large) strayed into Turkish airspace, it would end in a one way trip to The Hague.

    Netanyahu's world is shrinking fast.

An Israeli government spokesperson told reporters on Sunday that "there will be no Turkish boots on the ground" as part of the multinational force expected to take over from the Israeli military in Gaza.

It's perhaps THE most central and important issue in the whole "Israel/Palestine" debate. Certainly far more so than complaints about others posting frequency etc.

The mutilated bodies of Palestinians returned by Israel show signs of expert organ removal, likely for organ harvesting, renowned British-Palestinian plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr Ghassan Abu Sittah has said.

Speaking to Al Jazeera earlier this week, Abu Sittah shared his professional opinion on images of the deceased Palestinians shown to him by the Qatar-based news outlet.

"The first observation is that, in all the bodies that organs were harvested or removed are those that are now routinely transplanted: the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys and corneas," Abu Sittah, who spent more than a month working in Gaza's hospitals during the war, said.

The plastic and reconstructive surgeon added that the precision with which the organs were removed indicated a professional hand.

"The method of extraction - the rib cage and ribs were clipped with a sharp saw - a medical saw, a bone saw - and the sternum, along with the central part of the ribs, was lifted to allow for the removal of the heart and lungs without damage to the organs being taken," he said, noting that the skin of all the victims appeared to be burnt by liquid nitrogen - a chemical used to preserve tissue.
