You claimed some time ago that the BBC was "fake news" - yet you then bemoan the apparent bias in BBC Arabic service by quoting (checks notes) - the BBC!

As I posted - it's a flawed and stupid logic. There was nothing personal or insulting in my post. But that you think it was is very telling.

Seems you've realised you dropped a massive clanger and are desperately clutching at straws.

It's a common theme over the last two years - and reminiscent of a certain President - "fake news!" Remarkably similar to the Israeli Govt and the IDF when they are caught with their pants down. Pure desperation and embarrassing.

The BBC, Haaretz, the Times of Israel, RTE and the likes are robust news services providing factual reporting. That you don't like the message is unfortunate, but only for you. You should consider changing the station you listen to? RTE Gold perhaps?

Here's a BBC report from Gaza - perhaps you think this one was staged and photographed in Clacton-on-Sea?

My friend, your posting style quite frankly doesn't fool me, the way your post was couched was the standard passive aggressive style of operating on the edge of the envelope.

That is perfectly obvious to an experienced poster so I won't rise to your rather clunky ill thought out tactics.

Whats your position on the colonisation of the West Bank and Arab East Jerusalem?

Why don't democracies speak out against Israeli media censorship?

A growing number of Hollywood actors and filmmakers who have voiced solidarity with Palestinians are reportedly being blacklisted by Paramount, following its takeover by pro-Israel billionaire David Ellison, according to

The move has raised fears of a systematic campaign to suppress dissenting voices in the entertainment industry under the guise of combating anti-Semitism.

Have a look at this takedown of the disinformation from the media and politicians over the racist and down right nasty Maccabi Tel Aviv football hooligans

The big question is why. Why are western European news outlets/governments so determined to lie on behalf of Israel, or to at least disseminate Israel's lies?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,195 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

be careful, even asking such a question gets you accused of the confetti that is 'antisemitism'

Protest at Israel Philharmonic concert in Paris. Not sure if publicity like this is more harmful than useful

Anyone who was around when the campaign was in full swing to ban and boycott apartheid South Africa will know this is only going to end when the western world applies the same standards to Israel as they (latterly) applied to South Africa and are applying to Russia.

Good article on the reconstruction of Gaza:

More of the usual thuggery and executions from the IDF. Suppose they have to take their anger out on someone seeing as they couldn't do it to the Villa fans.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that Israeli forces shot and killed two 16-year-old Palestinians, Mohammad Abdallah Mohammad Atiem and Mohammad Rashad Fadel Qasem, during a raid on the West Bank village of al-Judeira near Jerusalem. Local sources said troops opened fire on a group of teenagers, blocked medical teams from reaching the victims, and are currently holding the bodies.

The ceasefire has proved effective in getting hostages on both sides released and corpses returned.

There are six remaining captives; one of them has been located by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).

This evening, this body will be handed over by the PIJ and Hamas to the International Committee of the Red Cross and then over to the custody of the Israeli army in about two hours’ time.

This will mean that only five bodies remain held in Gaza, and the search for those bodies of captives becomes increasingly more complicated.

Only two countries refused to be accountable for their human rights transgressions.

“We were supposed to meet today in order to proceed with the review of the United States,” said Jurg Lauber, president of the UN Human Rights Council. “Nevertheless, I note that the delegation of the United States is not present in this room.”

The US said in August it would not attend the meeting, joining ally Israel as the only other country to skip the process in which all 193 UN member states undergo scrutiny of their human rights records. Topics such as LGBTQ, immigrant rights, and the death penalty had been on the agenda for discussion at the meeting.

One of the Israeli captives returned to Israel in the final batch a few weeks ago has alleged that he was sexually assaulted whilst in captivity in Gaza (becoming the first to do so publicly). The Israeli President said the following as a result:

    image.png

These words would carry a lot more gravity and integrity if this wasn't literally in the same week that an IDF lawyer had protesters show up outside her house, was branded a "traitor" and accused of "blood libel" for leaking details of the IDF sexually assaulting a Palestinian prisoner in their custody. Did President Isaac Herzog release a statement condemning that crime as well?

Raping prisoners is a disgusting crime against humanity. It shouldn't only count if your "side" is on the receiving end rather than the perpetrator of the abuse. You can't have it both ways.

This is the whole problem. Both sides are in denial about their own atrocities while always highlighting those of the other side

Turkey is taking a stand against Israel and its atrocities:

Turkey has issued arrest warrants for alleged genocide against the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and senior officials within his government.

Among 37 suspects listed were the Israeli defence minister, Israel Katz, the national security minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, and the army chief Lt Gen Eyal Zamir, said a statement from the Istanbul prosecutor’s office, which did not publish the complete list.

Turkey has accused the officials of “genocide and crimes against humanity” which Israel has “perpetrated systematically” in Gaza.

Didn't Starmer do his best to get the ban reversed ?? Hasn't he ordered his storm troopers to arrest the OAP's carrying the '' I support Palestine Action '' posters ?? I think the answer is 'Yes' to both. I reckon that the truth of why politicians are backing everything the Zionists are doing will only be discovered when all their bank accounts are checked forensically.

There is a ceasefire in place. Was that not what the protests were about? At this point it just seems like people are just unhappy about the fact that Israel exists at all.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 24,231 ✭✭✭✭Tell me how

Was that not what the protests were about?

Israel continues to turn off and on the ceasefire as they wish to inflict further damage on Gaza. And that's within the "Yellow" Zone which is less than half the area of Gaza and the space in which Palestinians must stay or be shot for simply walking in to another part of Gaza.

And that aside, Israel continues to inflict misery on Palestinians in the West Bank.

Israel also proceeded with the process of allowing for the use of the death penalty on Palestinians (including children) this week.

The ceasefire was the chief demand of the protests in order to halt the Genocide, but it was continually said by all who supported and attended protests that that was just the first step towards permitting the Palestinians to live and exist as they should be allowed to.

If you want to query why statements weren't stuck to, remember all the times Israeli officials, commentators and supporters (including on here) who said all that had to happen for things to go back to how they were prior to Oct 7 was for the hostages to be returned, why aren't you asking why that hasn't happened?

There is a ceasefire in place.

    A ceasefire you say?

A ceasefire in which hundreds of innocent people have been murdered?

    Some ceasefire.

At this point it just seems like people are just unhappy about the fact that Israel exists at all.

    Bollocks.

You guys are truly something else.

Israel commits genocide on its neighbors according to most major human rights NGOs. No sanctions. No accountability, despite the ongoing mass death and devastation. To you, they are all antisemetic, that explains it. Who needs proof or logic eh?

Israel starved civilians by blocking food and aid, manufacturing famine in the 21st century, a crime that horrified everybody (well, except Caedaoin and his/ her buddies for some reason).

It has killed 70,000, probably far more given the devestation. 20,000 of them children, and flattened whole cities - in an anti terror operation. The scale alone should stop the world in its tracks. But not Caedaoin and his/her buddies, doesn't bother them a bit!

In the West Bank, extremist scumbags, emboldened by their state, terrorize, steal, and kill local people to annex more land that isn’t theirs. "Ah ignore that," says Caedaoin. "I know I do!"

As all this horror unfolded, Israel lied, slandered, attacked decency, and utterly destroyed whatever moral superiority the West once claimed. "Big deal," says Caedaoin!

They’ve made the world less safe, not more, by torching the very things they should be defending: international law, human rights, and the rules-based order, which makes the world more dangerous for us all. "So what?," says Caedaoin and co!

People are disgusted not just by Israel’s actions, but by the cowardice of our own governments, who look the other way instead of enforcing justice. "Why does that matter," says Caedaoin.

The famine, the slaughter, the apartheid can’t possibly explain people’s outrage, because none of it bothers Caedaoin a single bit.

Caedaoin, according to you, it’s not the genocide that drives the anger, it’s just that we’re all somehow antisemites or Jihadi supporters who apparently want Israel to “cease to exist.” Proof or common sense to back your argument? Get out of town.

Do you really believe people around the world spontaneously developed hatred and anger toward one country out of nowhere, and have you genuinely not ever considered that it's disgraceful actions, pathetic lies and baseless slander could have caused it?

How is it possible that this very obvious and logical concept has eluded you all this time?

CINO - Ceasefire in name only

The current genocidal state needs to be held accountable for the slaughter inflicted throughout the region. Apply the same standards to genocidal states, not support them
