So, the facts appear to reveal that "transgender for everybody" and other culture war bullsh1t doesn't make a f*** of a difference to the average American when times get tough huh?

    Interesting....

Meh…New York previously elected that workshy clown de Blasio for two terms so Mamdani winning doesn't surprise me. Cuomo was a terrible opponent as was Sliwa (who looks like an extra from a Ninja Turtles movie).

The Jersey election - a Democrat replacing a Democrat in a state that has had 1 Republican Governor since 2002..yeah, earthquakes with that one….

As for the Virginia Gubernatorial race? 4 of the previous 6 Governors have been Democrats so is it really a surprise they flipped back?

Lol, when all else fails, make catty remarks about appearance! Taking lessons from the master.

Trying to win over the Jewish vote yesterday, Trump posted this on his pretend social network…

    image.png

Trump knowing that the elections weren't going the way he wanted came out with this nonsense…

    image.png

In his speech after winning Mamdani said…

Donald Trump, since I know you’re watching, I have four words for you: turn the volume up!
If anyone can show a nation betrayed by Donald Trump how to defeat him, it is the city that gave rise to him.

As ever, the felon is ungracious in defeat…

Your reaction to the election is almost as hilarious as the now totally propandagistic Daily Telegraph:

Trump had dinner in Mar A Largo with Nick Fuentes, a self proclaimed jew hater

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/oct/31/conservative-reaction-tucker-carlson-nick-fuentes-interview

Fuentes – who used to be ostracized by the mainstream right for his views, including support of Hitler and claims that Jews run the country – said on the podcast that “organized Jewry” held outsize influence and said he was a fan of Joseph Stalin.

Listening to Bill O’Reilly on CNN waving away last nights results and saying they will have no bearing on the midterms. He says the Supreme Court will rule in favour of the Trump Tariffs and when they come into effect the prices for consumers will crash through the floor and the Republicans will sweep the midterms.

Completely deluded stuff. Republicans are sleepwalking into electoral armageddon if that's their strategy. His commentary was laughable but worryingly you get the impression that he believes what he is saying. I don't think we have ever seen a situation in economic history where tariffs have resulted in drops in the prices that consumers pay.

Biden openly participated in a genocide. He should be in a jail cell, not the White House. Trump has done the same and deserves the same.

O'Reilly? The lad who paid out 45 million to several women he allegedly abused?

Why are CNN having that scum turd on?

Probably because they know he will make a fool of himself and Republicans by claiming things like tariffs will lower grocery prices.

there seems to be a consorted effort to make this guy mainstream. He has been doing the rounds on the rightwing podcasts , getting softball questions, having his image softened, made more presentable. Do the republicans see him as part of the future of the party ? A cornerstone ?

Mamdani offers a much needed counter to the prevailing Democratic wisdom. While his exact Democratic Socialist platform or approach obviously can't be replicated 1:1 across the entire US, his focus on hope, confronting people's actual everyday problems with compelling solutions (really the vital central message he was out there with) and openly challenging the increasingly destructive power of the ultra-wealthy is really something that could be translated on a broad scale to very different electoral races. You don't have to be an open socialist like Mamdani to see the benefits there.

'Better things are possible' can be a winning, popular platform. Whether Democratic leadership learns that lesson… well, I'm not entirely optimistic, alas. I think they clearly have a path to power again going by last night's overall results, but it will be squandered once again if they just passively ride the inevitable anti-Trump wave rather than genuine forward-looking reform of their platform. You can already see warning signs in the way the likes of Chuck Schumer - a New Yorker himself! - clearly refuse to even acknowledge Mamdani or his success.

Again, the New York mayoral race isn't a US presidential or general election. But it does show the Democrats can look forward, if only they're brave enough to do so.

Unfortunately too many of the higher-ups in the Dem Party seem content with being "Less bad than the GOP" rather than "Good", and will go out of their way to stifle or downplay the success of any Democrats who go outside of that.

There were vibes of the Obama 2008 campaign coming off the Mamdani campaign. A winning formula for the Democrats it seems.

Aside from the NYC Mayoral race some of the other elections spell big trouble for the Republicans. Democrats winning by huge margins in races that are usually fairly close. Republicans could be facing a wipeout in the midterms.

Is it of any import that the GOP won the Pa Commonwealth Attorney General post from the Dems? The Dems won the Virginia post and retained the Nth Carolina post. There were other seats, including state supreme court seat wins for the Dems, even if they included retentions.

I'd suspect a lot of the reason you were favourable towards Trump was because of Russia. You are okay with certain genocides. Pretty confident you don't believe Putin should be in a jail cell.

I pretty much hate the US's position on Palestine. Equally I recognize that Trump was always a far more dangerous individual who puts no real value in human life. He was already pals with the tyrants in his first term. He admired them. The way he is behaving now is like a tyrant. He threatened New York to try to influence an election, it thankfully failed.

    Both sides nonsense.

Biden did what he could within the absurd American foreign policy Overton window to save Palestinian lives.

In other Trump-related U.S activities, the USS Gravely has left Trinidad and Tobago's Port Spain a few miles away from Venezuela's Caribbean coast. No info on where it's going at the moment. The Euronews video, from 15 hours past, covering it's departure, with pilot boats assistance, had the profile of the ship show two heliports next to a helipad deck by it's stern with a one-gun turret forward.

US is becoming a real fascist state. ICE agents ram a car driven by a woman going to work not involved in any protest and drag her out by her legs.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/chicago-woman-dragged-her-car-201100192.html

“I was in shock and terrified. The video evidence is clear: Agents crashed into me. I was not involved in any protest or related activity, and I intend to seek justice for how I was treated,” Figueroa told the Tribune.

For hours, her family couldn’t locate her. Only after coming across a video online did they realize that Figueroa had been taken by masked federal agents through video circulating the web. They were able to ping her through her iPhone location at the ICE processing center in Broadview.

Update on US citizen in Chicago, rammed by ICE and dragged off in unmarked vehicle
