I cancelled the tech insurance after 12 months, and on the 13th month the laptop got cooked.

Turns out as I cancelled the card they were charging the insurance to, it never showed up on their system, and I was under repair protection according to their records.

Knowing the consumer law is 6 years but I was only on 13 months, I just went ahead and got it repaired under the insurance policy I supposedly had.

3.5 years into having it, it's now completely fried. I sent it for repair but they said they'll issue a voucher for a refund as it's un-repairable.

My question is, I've had it repaired twice under the "insurance" I have and there's been no issue with them raising questions about my premium payments.

If they issue a refund, would they notice the insurance policy I had hasn't actually been paid in over two years?

Anyone have knowledge of how their system works in that capacity?

I honestly don't feel I'm pulling a fast one as Curry's tell customers they only have a 1 year warranty on their purchase, but by law every customer has a two year warranty.

And I believe should be protected for up to 6 years in the case of complete failure, by the small claims court.
