Awful day in north Dublin as well, just back from Spain where it was a lovely 20-25C and sunny. Heating on for the first time this year tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,455 ✭✭✭pureza

    total now 12.2mm

    Current rain rate there 22.6mm/hr

What type of a weather station have you pureza. In all the years I'm interested in the weather i still have none. Maybe santa might bring me one.

extremely heavy rain in cork city for the last 20 or so minutes, monsoon like!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,400 ✭✭✭Kutebride

Think we got away lightly in Meath this evening considering how the radar looked. Tomorrow morning in the East here, I think heavier rain is forecast that what we got this evening.

Yes @Dazler97 big difference in temps in the 24 hours.

Up to 183.3mm now. Need 16.7mm for a 200mm month. Not likely . Tomorrow will be sunny and showers .

Awful day here today in NCD, lashing rain and wind all day.

Didn't matter too much to us as it was a lazy day at home after a busy few days in Phantasialand.

I hope its better tomorrow for trick & treating!

I'd be getting out early for trick and treating! For Dublin, looks like rain for morning, then clearer/drier slot for afternoon/early evening, before more rain this evening.

I’m almost certain there have been flashes of lightning south of cork city in the past hour.

  • Moderators, Home & Garden Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 19,533 Mod ✭✭✭✭DOCARCH

Yip. Quite a few strikes showing up on lightning detectors.

a big flash of lightening and rumble of thunder - Northside Cork City

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41,744 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

I had seen lightning but hadn’t heard the thunder but had the back door open and heard that one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41,744 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

I’ve said it before I’m okay with most types of wearher but I hate lightning. Its both passed down fear from my grandmother and having been near a really active one years ago.

God almighty lashing again here in Dublin!

Yep Docarch planning on going trick & treating early but I was hoping to get out to park for a walk with kids, not likely at moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 920 ✭✭✭Robwindstorm

Wait until midday apple, it should start to clear Dublin. The forecast after 9pm news left me scratching my head as it didn't go past 6pm for evening trick or treating

Wish the weather was better but...

Looking at the radar it looks like all the rain is in the East. It should clear soon. Nice day here in Galway and plenty of sunshine forecast this afternoon. Does feel very Halloweeny these past few nights. I love Halloween 🎃 🎃 🎃

just poxy poxy weather here near Trim this morning. feel sorry for the puca people as they already had to cancel some events last night… the rain this morning will not help the market in the fields!

The rain here in Wicklow has been very intense at times for the past 2 hours, and looks to be that way right up the east coast. It's absolutely hammering down. Really hope it clears up by lunch time so I can get out for a walk.

The grass pitches will be absolutely destroyed for the next while.
I’ve tripled the dosage of my usual vitamin D supplement, realised I haven’t been properly outdoors in the last two weeks

Dreadful morning. Wet. 8C. Lashing. Some amount of rain yesterday and this morning. Leitrim.

    Be careful tonight. Samhain.

Dreadful day again in Dublin, feels more like the depths of December this past while. I haven't really been keeping track day to day but feels like it's been a really awful October here, very little sun, lots and lots of rain and very few mild or pleasant days. I know we had a dry week early in the month but I don't think we saw the sun for about 10 days right throughout it

Biblical rain at the moment in Greystones. Rain rate of 167.0mm/hr. 12.8mm so far today.

TBH I hope thats how it plays out. Dry for the kids Trick or Treating from 5-8 or 9pm but then lashing again when the kids are back inside gorging themselves on sweets and the older teens were planning to head out with a kilogram of explosives in their backpacks.

Same in Bray as that Squall line passed through. Looks like thats the end of the worst of it now though thankfully.

Turned into a decent day. Can it hold dry in the coming hrs for the trick or treaters......

Big swing in temps alright , even in the sun 🌞 its warm for end of October makes a difference to the cloud and rain
