Well then are we applying this to the Palestinians too in that case?

I mean, Israel has already demonstrated an intent to obliterate Gaza. Of the two opposing sides, Israel is the one which has demonstrated that it absolutely can and will unleash full destructive force killing tens of thousands in the process, leaving entire neighbourhoods in rubble and also having voiced support for plans involving the relocation of Gazans from the territory. If we are being consistent here, then Palestinians (faced with the very reasonable assumption that their existence is under threat) would be morally entitled to throw "everything they have" at their disposal at the Israelis including killing civilians.

Well, there's also Ben-Gvir (convicted terrorist) and Smotrich in the Govt. Plus a bunch of other odious politicians who have no issue inciting Genocide and war crimes. And the president of course.

    All voted for by Israelis.

So no more than the argument used by pro-Israelis "the Gazans voted for Hamas so they deserve it", Israel is its govt.

Of course, we're all waiting for the Israelis to kick out such a murderous regime. Oh, they're not. Wonder why?

I have been told on here repeatedly that Israel were the colonisers, yet the genetic evidence you have presented shows a greater number of Jews are local than Arabs are local.

    Interesting.

The leader of Hamas was a convicted terrorist who (justifiably by the pro Hamas heads here) was responsible for the butchering of 1200 people in Israel including babies and concert goers.

Have you a point to make?

You'll find that the "settlers" are generally ashkenazi Jews with a strong line of European DNA.

yep - the Israeli govt and the IDF are no better than Hamas. Terrorists one and all.

Of course, Israel is responsible for carrying out multiple war crimes (two of its senior leaders are at large from The Hague), crimes against humanity and Genocide.

Funny how everyone gets so wound up about Hamas terrorists then defends Israel, a terrorist state with a convicted terrorist at the heart of cabinet.

    Hypocrisy 101

I think everyone here wants to ceasefire. That is both sides ceasing to fire.

Oh, don't forget, the IDF shredded scores of that 1200 number in their Apache attack helicopters.

Circa 14 were blown to smithereens by a 65 tonne Merkava Battle tank.

    And you support them.

    This is Israel in microcosm-

"A 55-year-old Palestinian woman has been taken to hospital after being clubbed over the head by a masked Jewish settler as she was picking olives.

The unprovoked attack, which took place on Sunday morning in the Palestinian village of Turmus Ayya in the occupied West Bank, was captured on video by US journalist Jasper Nathaniel."

No, approaching a counter protest after being told 4 times to go back to your own area is provocative

Your genetic evidence points to the Arabs being more of the outsiders.

We both know that’s not true Blanch. Israel has not made peace with Syria, it still illegally occupied Syrian territory. Israel has not made peace with Lebanon and is still bombing Lebanon and killing Lebanese civilians.
Saudi Arabia has said they will only normalise relations with Israel after a two state solution is implemented.

"Palestinians". Try typing it, its not that hard.

And I'd imagine some here will cheer it on.

We've even had posts wondering why Palestinians don't use the land to grow crops to make money.

Simple - Israelis won't let them including this unfortunate woman.

And I'm sure the IDF and Israeli Police are assigning many resources to finding and apprehending the perpetrator. Not.

The founder of Likud led a massacre that raked and murdered women and children, bombed hotels, murdered diplomats etc. Do you know any of this?

    "modern liberal democracy" my arse

"At least 135 mutilated bodies of Palestinians returned by Israel to Gaza had been held in a notorious detention centre already facing allegations of torture and unlawful deaths in custody, officials from Gaza’s health ministry have told the Guardian."

You missed the words "more or less" in my post.

    Syria is in flux.

Qatar, Egypt, Saudi, Jordan, UAE, all signed up to the peace deal.

haha that will cheer them up no end. Brilliant.

they bombed Qatar as well of course - the reason Israel was forced to implement a ceasefire.

Neighbour's children. Bad to see relations falling out. Blood is thicker than water as they say. They need to sit down and sort it out with a big family party.

You are right. “More or less” for Israel means continuing to kill civilians.

After Israel breached the ceasefire by launching air strikes, here's what the bbc says. Seems the US has a level of trust with Hamas - but after the Qatar bombing, not so much with Israel.

"Trump's envoys – who played a key role in negotiations with Hamas – had been expected in Israel to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, prior to the latest events.

Before they left the US, the two men gave an interview to 60 Minutes on CBS, in which they described how they had broken with diplomatic protocols to hold direct talks with Hamas leaders during ceasefire talks in Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt.

They said this was intended to give guarantees that fighting would not resume after Israeli hostages were returned. Kushner - Trump's son-in-law – said the president had been "very, very comfortable" with such an approach.

He also said the signs were that Hamas was acting "in good faith" to return the bodies of deceased hostages – a main point of contention with Israel, prior to Sunday's events, threatening the ceasefire. Sixteen bodies have yet to be handed back. Hamas has said it has recovered another corpse which will be handed back when "conditions allow.""

Netanyahu and his cabinet weren't particularly bothered about Hamas or seeing them as a major threat. The aim was the ethnic cleansing of Gaza and replacing them with Israeli settlers: "the final solution to the Gaza question". A permanent ceasefire and 2 million Gazan citizens returning to their homes was not part of the plan.

I recall Ben-Gvir attending an event on the Gaza border with a load of settlers. They had plans for slicing up Gaza and where their houses were going to built so they could live there happily ever after.

That's why Ben-Gvir is apoplectic at the ceasefire - that happily ever after life for his mates has evaporated.

The fact that it is illegal under international law vexes him and his ilk not one jot.

Once a terrorist, always a terrorist.

Again, the proof in in the fkin CCTV, he is literally told that having the Star out is provocative. You don't have to trust me, see it for yourself instead of regurgitating their lies.

Also he should have to be able to walk right among them, they were all in the UK not in the fkin Gaza. He should be able to be openly jewish in this civilized world we have here. Or used to have.

But no-one being provocative in a protest - on any side - would be allowed to continue that provocation and escalate a situation to physical violence.

If there was no protest and this person was simply displaying just Star of David with pride, that would be no problem.

But shoving it in people's faces at a protest is only going to end in tears. As it did in this case.

And bear in mind, there would be an element of the police actually protecting him from himself. Bit like the Maccabi fans - God forbid a Villa fan walked up to them waving a Villa scarf at them - they'd be torn to shreds by the Israeli thugs. They're happy to tear each other apart so a foreign fan would likely be a bonus to them.

Here's a good summary of where Israel's economy is right now (October 2025). It's pretty ugly.

"Having long sold itself as the ‘start-up nation’, Israel is now in economic turmoil, with the war it is waging in Gaza resulting in the withdrawal of long-standing partners. Declining growth, a brain drain and diplomatic isolation are diminishing a model that was considered exemplary."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,497 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

Hilariously, Lisa Nandy (well known Zionist) says she is still doing everything in her power to ensure the Villa game goes ahead with Maccabi fans present. The Labour government's devotion to Israel knows no bounds.

So the news on the detainee front is not good for Israel’s reputation.

At least 135 mutilated bodies of Palestinians returned by Israel to Gaza had been held in a notorious detention centre already facing allegations of torture and unlawful deaths in custody, officials from Gaza’s health ministry have told the Guardian.

The director general of the health ministry, Dr Munir al-Bursh, and a spokesperson for Nasser hospital in Khan Younis, where the bodies are being examined, said a document found inside each body bag indicated the bodies all came from Sde Teiman, a military base in the Negev desert where, according to photos and testimonies published by the Guardian last year, Palestinian detainees were held in cages, blindfolded and handcuffed, shackled to hospital beds and forced to wear nappies.

“The document tags inside the body bags are written in Hebrew and clearly indicate that the remains were held at Sde Teiman,” Bursh said. “The tags also showed that DNA tests had been carried out on some of them there.”

More detail from Haaretz around ceasefire and the Israeli attacks. Seems Israel was pressured by the US to abide by the agreement. And per my earlier post the US has given Hamas guarantees and it seems Hamas has returned the guarantee.

The IDF said on Sunday evening that it has renewed the enforcement of the cease-fire after striking across the Strip throughout the day in response to armed militants attacking Israeli forces in southern Gaza and killing two soldiers.

An Israeli source told Haaretz that the IDF announcement came after the U.S. pressured Israel's government. An Israeli official denied that the U.S. forced Israel's hand, saying that it had decided to resume airstrikes and close all border crossings for a single day "and no longer than that" even before its officials "talked to the Americans."

U.S. President Trump told reporters on Air Force One that the U.S. thinks that Hamas' "leadership isn't involved" in the attack on IDF forces in southern Gaza on Sunday and that "maybe some rebels within" were responsible for the incident.

At the White House, Trump referred to Sunday's attacks in Gaza as "a little situation with Hamas, but that will be taken care of relatively quickly," adding "We made a deal with Hamas that they're gonna be very good, and behave and be nice. If not, we're gonna eradicate them if we have to. And they know that."
