I'm not sure Obama should have gotten one either.

He even said it himself that he didn't feel he deserved it.

Well it was obvious .He couldn't really say otherwise.

What had being the first black president got to do with the Nobel Peace prize?

(Not that I am not a great admirer of his but I think that is separate)

I'm certainly not judging him like I judge Trump for whining about how he should get his special medal for being the bestest boy, but the Nobel Peace Prize isn't as illustrious as it once was. Kissinger tainted it forever.

There is no fleece deal in gaza just a con-cept

His other master has reigned him in for a meetup in hungry tomahawks off the table

    Americas shame has no limits

I read a few historical novels recently set when Henry the 8th was in power in England. The similarities with Trump are staggering. The massively bloated ego, the incredibly thin skin, no insult or sleight could be forgotton, no problem breaking the country for personal grandiosity, vanity projects. Once loyal enablers executed when they served no further purpose…….

One business is going up due to CFTrump's actions: inflatable costume sales in Portland

    https://www.wweek.com/news/2025/10/14/a-portland-costume-shop-is-seeing-a-boost-in-business-from-ice-protesters-dressing-as-inflatable-animals/

One can get inflatable frog costumes for $16.99 each from China, but minimum order is 500 and there's tariffs (and fentanyl duties!)

What is the CFTrump stuff, as I don't think it actually means anything to anyone

He has also now confirmed that the CIA will be attempting to dictate rule change in Venezuela. A policy that has been such a stellar U.S. success in the past.

If any of those operatives are caught, tried, found guilty they are not covered under the Geneva Convention and Venezuela would be entitled to execute them as spies.

The clown has not even left the U.S. with even vaguely plausible deniability on it being state sanctioned to prevent that due to his big mouth not giving a damn what happens them due to him bigging himself up

Putin has played him like a fiddle yet again. Trump was about to sell Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, and then suddenly, Putin agreed to 'talks' and got Trump to completely fold and take any threat of missiles off the table.

Every time Trump looks like he is starting to shift away from Russia's position, Putin calls him up and tells him how great he is and Trump folds.

Putin gets to wage war uninterrupted for another few weeks. And then he will simply repeat the trick.

How anyone thinks Trump is a strong leader is beyond me.

Agree that she can go and do one , but her shift in discussion suggests that the chains binding the MAGA masses to Trump might be finally beginning to weaken.

They could all come flooding back to him over some future action , but right now the complaints on the ground are getting steadily louder.

FAO those who might/would know the inside staff departures at senior military rank if there is truth in the report that the O/C Southern Command, Adm Alvin Holsey, has chosen to depart his post over differences between him and the Trump Admin's; blocks on [HEGSETH] blocks off: marine operations off two Southern America countries?

I guess we’ll find out in about two or three months once he’s out and free to speak.

What we do know is that is that he has decided to retire at least a year earlier than anticipated. We know that he raised concerns over the legality of the actions against drug operations. Whether the two are related is speculative.

There may well be family or personal health reasons why he suddenly decided to hit the eject button. It’s not exactly unheard of. Apparently any concerns he raised about actions thus far carried out have been assuaged given he carried them out over the past couple of months. One may consider the possibility that he was given notice of future operations which he could not be assuaged about, but if so, as yet nobody is talking.

The aftermath of the 'shooting' - the behaviour of the SS, Trump actually staying on stage and shouting 'fight, fight' with the flag fluttering behind him, was just so implausible.

    And then there's the ear…

Trump was floundering in the polls at the time of the "assassination". Harris had gained momentum and looked like overtaking him. He really needed something for people to get behind and like you, I'm convinced this entire event was a set up. Without this moment I think his campaign stood a good chance of sinking. He has some incredibly nefarious individuals working in the background to ensure this Project 2025 comes to fruition. It would be extremely naive to think they wouldn't have the ability to pull something like this.

I remember at the time people saying it was a fragment from something that hit him rather than the bullet itself. Was that just speculation at the time?

Yet another 'clock is ticking for farmers' article. IMO, they're boned now and it's just a matter of how badly they crash, it's too late to recover at least for this year. CFTrump and his flying monkeys are spouting nonsense about 'tariff revenue' (taxes) being used to bail out farmers.

What's additionally odious here is how the WH spox says Farmers were instrumental in electing CFTrump so of course he won't abandon them. Uhuh. All they matter, are for their votes. The food they produce? There's always BIg Macs, amiright?

That was a theory based on the limited/no damage that was evident as the idea that he was hit/grazed by a high velocity bullet and that it left him with nothing more than a shaving cut was extremely hard to believe.

I don't believe it was staged , but it's incredibly unlikely that he was hit directly by a bullet , it's far more plausible that he got hit by a splinter/fragment of something or other and then cynically decided to milk that for all it was worth by claiming he was shot.

I'm looking forward to the trial of Trump's former advisor on charges of illegal possession of classified documents and of passing them on to two relatives. How does one prove the classified documents exist without providing the judge, the jury and the defence team access to them, which would mean they have to be declassified.

I can't remember the exact details but I think there is a way of doing that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,635 ✭✭✭✭charlie14

That happens when you over promise. Different factions within MAGA support Trump for different reasons.

He has promised all of them he would do everything all these factions want. He is now finding out that you cannot keep all of the people happy all of the time. Especially when he has promised factions with different and often contradictory priorities.

He has a millstone around his neck with Epstein. Ignoring that is not going to make it go away

The Miller rumour mill is still on the go. The latest one is that the Millers are selling their house and moving out, seems that people have been scrawling chalk messages on the sidewalk outside their home supporting DEI is good for the U.S.

There's trump-isms and there's Trump. In the meeting with Zelenskyy he mentioned the deal the US has on minerals because of land ownership in Alaska, then posed a question to Zelenskyy about a possible tunnel from Russia to Alaska, that's an interesting thing I just heard, I'm not happy with it, then smiles saying "he (Zelenskyy) doesn't like it". As bargaining goes, it could work (in Trump's mind) to unsettle the O/P present to make a deal but I reckon Zelenskyy is way past the stage B/S from Trump could unsettle him.

With Trump's chat with Putin common knowledge and knowing how Trump treats other nation leaders, he would have expected Trump to revert to kind with a denial of the requested missiles as it's in Trump's nature to smile while slipping the knife in between the ribs of the O/P. Personally I reckon it's a better bargaining practice to carry a wooden club to any trade meeting with Trump. It's what Trump understands.

Hmmmm, I wouldn't be so sure. I reckon most of this "in fighting" is just performative.

Nice to see them reclaiming the 'We the people' catchphrase, formerly only used by the MAGA crowd.

I've never been someone who allowed much time for conspiracy theories, but immediately when this happened and that same night I saw the behaviour of the secret service after the shots were fired, I said out loud to no one, "That's fcuking weird".

I've a friend who does security for Irish dignitaries and he said that in their training, the first thing they're trained for in the event of an attack is to make the target as small as possible while removing them from the area.

Coralling him in to a photo stance was really odd and never set right with me.
