PPPoE credentials reference

I thought I'd share some common (and not so common) PPPoE credentials for future reference. Most access networks use VLAN ID 10 for their VDSL and fibre services so you should make sure that this is also specified in your router settings. Some routers such as ASUS and TP-Link hide this under the IPTV section.

    Eir:
    eir@eir.ie (or eircom@eircom.net)
    broadband1

Most Eir connections can use IPoE/DHCP and you should use this if available. You will need to use PPPoE if you have a static IP.

    Vodafone:
    vodafone@vodafone.ie (or modemserialnumber@vfieftth.ie)
    broadband

    Pure Telecom:
    puretelecom@puretel.ie
    broadband1

    Sky:
    anything@skydsl
    anything

Anything meaning any word or string you want.

    Digiweb (OpenEir):
    digiweb@nga.digiweb.ie
    digiweb

    Digiweb (SIRO):
    digiweb@siro.digiweb.ie
    digiweb

    Blacknight:
    broadband@bk.network
    broadband

Would be nice to have a similar post for all the 5G mobile broadbands as well.

I've Sky Broadband installed through OpenEir and have the TP Link DECO W2400 mesh network. I tried removing the Sky modem and changing the settings in the TP Link to

    Sky:
    anything@skydsl
    anything

Anything meaning any word or string you want.

but couldn't get internet connection. Am I missing specific settings?

You need to set Internet VLAN ID 10 in VLAN/IPTV settings

I set up my Deco x50 only last month replacing my Sky Broadband supplied router. As stated above you need to set the VLAN ID to 10. To do this…. Go to Advanced settings.

    IPTV/VLAN - Turn On

    ISP Profile - Custom

    Internet VLAN - On

    Internet VLAN ID - 10

Internet VLAN Priority - 1 ( I set it to one and its working, it wouldn't let me leave it blank but I wasn't sure of this. Its between 1 and 7 maybe someone can advise me if i should change this setting. )

I don't think you even need the correct settings for Sky, just the VLAN 10 is fine.
I run an Edgerouter X that is set up with the credentials for Pure Telecom (puretelecom@puretel .ie/ broadband1). Every year I switch my broadband between Sky and Pure Telecom for the cheapest offer. I haven't changed my login details in 6 years and just keep the Pure Telecom login there all the time. You don't even notice the changeover time between providers.

It's a shame you can't refuse the routers they send you every year on signing up. I just put them in the attic unopened and send them back and end of contract. Waste of resources.
This is on OpenEir, but would suspect SIRO would be the same.

Yes for some retail providers it doesn't matter what the PPPoE username and password is. It is provider specific rather than access network specific.
