I had a great long post written out and for some strange reason, my browser reset and I lost it all. Pity we don’t have an automatic save draft function.

Anyway., to make my long post shorter, I am still bitterly disappointed from last weekend, I’ve never had to walk off a course early except for thunder and lightning or snow one time in Palmerston. Especially on captains weekend, the pinnacle of our society season.

Congratulations to @benny79 on a fantastic win on the day , you have been improving all year and hopefully this is another boost to keep you heading downward in handicap.

Congratulations to @bakerbhoy , fantastic consistent golf all year, tough courses and tough competition, it’s a brilliant feeling to top the lot. Well done.

Huge thanks to @alanm and @spacecoyote for sorting the food for us after the golf club had let us down …..again. Don’t think we will be visiting there again.

To @seveob and the rest of our committee , huge thanks for all the hard work during the year especially to @Golfgraffix , we can’t do this without all your help and support. Thank you so much.

Finally to our outgoing and incoming captain, thanks for a great year and am already looking forward to next year, our 15th year. Great to have the society going from strength to strength every year and even after all these years, we still get to visit new courses. Roll on 2026!!!

I'm very late posting, so I'll keep it brief. Well, briefish…

Firstly well done to Bakerboy on GOTY. Great to see some silverware on the shelves in Tramore GC. I went off on my holidays, so was sorry to miss the homecoming. But glad to dry out - boy was it wet in Woodenbridge that day!

I'd looked forward to playing Woodenbridge. It's my third time playing there and I'll likely be back next year. They do a fantastic stay and play deal for there and about 7 other courses (link at the bottom of my message if anyone is looking for a golf break). But it's such an enjoyable course to play - plenty of challenge and plenty to keep you interested, but the scoring there tends to be very good. It was a pity about the weather though. The views in that valley are spectacular. I should have brought a transparent umbrella. I see Boccy won that day with 43. In the weather we had I was impressed with the scoring overall, but 43 was a decisive win - well done! I was out with Token, get2thechoppa and Javier. A great auld round, even in the rain. Poor Token was going great and it just came apart a bit on the back 9. Get2thechoppa actually fitted me for my irons. It was the one good thing about the rain - he didn't see that I never got those iron covers! And Javier just had enviable consistency all day.

And well done Benny on the Captains! A popular winner for sure.

I'll see you all next year, hopefully I'll make another couple. Best of luck with it Tiger!
