Stream(s) stuttering and aborting in Client Mode?

My situation is that I have Openvix 6.6.005 on Zgemma H7S acting as the server and Vix 6.7.014 on Edision OSMega as client.

Streams start fine but within a couple of minutes, sometimes only twenty seconds, the stream will stutter and eventually stop.

Changing channel restores the stream but it fails again after a short time.

    Any ideas please?

Did it ever work? What skin are you using? It may be 6.7 is difficult. I use OPENWEBIF to stream occasionally. Does that work for you.

I tried it on a test run and I'm sure i used 1080 skin. Maybe it needs same image on each.

Did it ever work ? Also which model of the H7S do you have ? The one with the hard drive slot in the back or the one that you have to take the lid off to install the hard drive.

If it had previously worked , take the lid off and check the 7 or so small electrolytic capacitors on the board for swelling. Both my boxes died that way.

Picture of swollen caps is attached for reference !

In any case , a dual tuner box like the H7S is not very reliable as a Server box , as any time the main box calls for a second tuner , for EPG update or for recording etc. there will be issues with the client. Also , Client based setups usually work best if the boxes are hardwired to each other over the home network , and ideally it should be a gigabit network.

Wireless varies throughout the day based on contention from other wireless devices that also use Wi fi , so phones tablets etc. Guests arriving with phones tablets etc . even neighbours with phones tablets so not very stable over wi fi at all.

For the record , I had a Tiviar Alpha plus and both versions of H7S , and ran an extra line into the kitchen for the kitchen TV via a firestick and kodi with an E2 plugin , it was never stable on any of those boxes.

I now run VU+ boxes and it is stable on those , but of course they are a much more powerful box with plenty of free tuners , most of the time anyway!
