Why is the Ford Focus Mk4 not more popular?

The side view reveals a well-executed harmony of form and function, with aerodynamic contours that hint at performance but without going anywhere near a boy-racer look. It looks like it has the solidity of a German car but it's been designed by an Italian. This car looks like a compact sporty Merc but without the price tag. You could see it parked outside the Monte Carlo Casino or beside a Sunseeker yacht in Marbella. It's a simply stunning car to look at from any angle. Probably the nicest looking car Ford have brought out in the last thirty years.

So, why is not that popular on Irish roads?

    Two reason in my opinion,

People want crossovers and people got stung with the Eco Boost engines.

A pity you can't get it with the 1.5 l petrol engine here.

i went googling it, based on the description in the OP, thinking 'it must be new and radical looking'.

It's one of the few cars that actually look better in IRL compared to an internet pic.

Opening poster should possibly apply for a position with the Ford marketing department. Maybe not so popular because of a lot of tat that Ford put out in recent years and well before the eco boom engine for that matter. Its a decent looking car but hardly any revelation. Not sure why this is in the Classic cars forum given that the Mk 4 Focus hit the roads in 2018.

I like the Mk 4 from the outside - its when you get in it that things get a bit more boring for want of a better description. The likes of KIA do much more interesting and aesthetically pleasing interiors. Same problem with modern VW's - except perhaps the new Golf Gti's.
