torn on this one, my last malahide gig was a sh-tshow getting out, shocking organisation by MCD/security/gardai or whoever the buck falls at, crushes for the dart, people panicking, straight up dangerous…

having said that I saw them for the first time at the 3 last Novemeber and i must say it was one of the best gigs i've ever been at, im far from a Nick Cave super-fan but obviously know a bit of the catalogue, based on reports and reviews of his gigs over the years i made it my business to go while he's still at it, had tickets for the covid era gig that was ultimately shelved, anyway the gig in the 3 was incredible, probably the best frontman ive ever seen and the band were just superb, some show

Had tickets for last years show but ended up not going due to life getting in the way. Reading the reports i was gutted however I saw them in RHK 7 or 8 years ago and was pretty disappointed. It was a nice summers evening but I dunno, i think the band and their style of music doesnt translate into open air shows.

Yep, nearly spilled my coffee in excitement when I saw the announcement. Then I saw the venue and the day.

Hard hard task for me to get there.

What are the concert buses back to town like...is it as bad as Marlay?

Yeah, the 3 arena gig last year was the best gig I went to all year.. but a Wednesday in Malahide sounds less appealing.

Are we thinking this sells out?, im in two minds about going as its a pretty long drive and if you get stuck leaving the car park it would be 3am before i would be home.

I can see it selling out but also he has not exactly covered himself in glory regarding Israel and playing out doors is kind of a bummer

it won’t. The second 3 arena show didn’t sell out and that was only a year ago. He has played here too much recently. Add in it being a midweek show in malahide and I’d say it will crater with it being half sold

i doubt it will crater that bad to be honest, im expecting neil young level at malahide type of attendance personally, maybe slightly more depending on the weather closer too, im hoping it's not so i can make a call in april/may on if i can go or not

Did anyone get an MCD pre-sale email for Nick Cave? I see there's a Mastercard pre-sale also. I've a Mastercard credit card but presume you needed to register with Mastercard somewhere for that pre-sale? Any info appreciated, thank you.

wow i think you are vastly underestimating this show, i would be amazed if it didn't get to 17,500 at the very least, especially with it not being tied to an album so people will view it as a almost greatest hits tour

What's the capacity at Malahide? I'm in two minds, saw him in the 3 Arena last year and was blown away, but Malahide, midweek, next summer - no idea if I'll even be able to go!
Also, presume it's all standing, or do they put in seating for some gigs out there? I've never been to one.

the 3 arena shows did over 20k just about. It will just a repeated version of the last tour, maybe he drops a few from new album from setlist but it will be 90% the same.
I think audience will be slow to buy in numbers

10:30 curfew at malahide with venue bars closed at10pm with Nick cave on around 8pm

They had a near sold out crowd for the 2nd night in 2024 (close on 25k tickets sold) and even accounting for cross over of 2 night goes they will get close to the 20k easily IMO.

also this is not a continuation of the wild god tour

I've been a massive fan for years but after the 3Arena gig I'm making it my goal to see him as much as possible before they pack it in.

He never disappoints when he performs live. I've yet to experience anything other than elation and gratitude that I've been to a gig by Nick Cave. So I'm delighted to have front standing tickets for Malahide, don’t care that it's mid-week, it'll be worth it.

Its the same as a gold circle. You enter near the front. Its worth the extra tenner as guaranteed a good view

How did you get front standing in the presale? Only options were the scandalous VIP tickets at double the price that seem to suggest the front area or general standing. There was no gold circle option or an ability to select different price levels?

Agree get up the front for Nick if you can... You will be effing blown away... Incredible... Forget about the midweek and nonsense travel out of malahide... Worth it... But not if they've replaced the gold circle and are now calling it VIP at double the price... My heart sank... Hope I'm wrong!
