Been a while since I've used Revolut for crypto. Apparently you can now withdraw to a private wallet. I remember their fees were high and there was a large spread between buy and sell prices though.

Ya you get a terrible price on the normal app, but they also have exchange.revolut.com with a much better spread and low fees.

Can you pay someone in crypto and are they still looking for passport for sign up ?

Revolut allows you to send crypto to other Revolut users and it also allows you to send it to another crypto address unrelated to Revolut.

So what's available via exchange.revolut.com is a desktop option - there's no upgrade of the app to give better rates?

How do those rates compare with the likes of Binance, Kraken, etc?

    Has anyone:

    A. moved crypto assets onto Revolut - with a minimum four figure euro value from an external wallet.

    or

    B. moved crypto assets from Revolut to an external wallet (again, to a value starting in four figures at a minimum)

In the case of the former, was there any extra BS over and above what you'd expect with doing the same level of transfer using euros or dollars? No Spanish inquisition?

In the case of the latter, again was there any red tape and requests for paperwork, ID, etc? I think with the European regulations now, don't they want confirmation of the owner of any external wallet that funds are sent to?

I've never used Revolut for crypto purposes but just curious about the above…depending on what experience people are having with it, I might have a future use case for it…

Can you move crypto like ETH from an exchange or a wallet to your Revolut account and cash out that way?

I sent some btc from binance to revolut and the only thing revolut asked me is to confirm that incoming amount is my own wallet. I transferred only couple hundred euro worth though as a test.

A few months ago i moved 6 figures into Revolut X from an external wallet. Sold it for USD and withdrew it to my normal revolut bank account. Converted most of it to EUR and withdrew that to a non revolut bank.

They did put a few hour hold on my account when withdrawing from the Revolut X exchange to the Revolut app. They went through some chat steps with a real person to verify my identity to make sure i wasnt hacked. But it was very smooth.

Ok, well this is interesting. I hadn't had a use case for crypto related to Revolut so I was largely ignoring their offering. When they first launched their commission rates were uncompetitive and you couldn't move digital assets onto or off the platform.

Following the feedback you guys left in the last couple of posts, I've opened a Revolut X account. If I've got this right, then while they're seperate apps, they work in tandem as the tiny crypto balance I had I can see in both now. I presume if I fire up Revolut X and transfer in a few tokens, my crypto balance will update on the regular Revolut app and the Revolut X app?

I use revolut for debit card purposes. If I add crypto assets, can the debit card "spend" those or do I need to convert to euros first?

You would need to convert to FIAT first. It's almost instant and the rates and fees are not terrible.

Thats not correct. The Revolut crypto card will sell your crypto to pay for whatever you are buying. You dont need to sell it manually, they do it automatically whenever you use your Crypto Debit Card.
