    Hey guys,

I picked up a non runner as a project for the young lad and I.

She won't fire for love nor money.

I have adjusted checked spark its good and strong, valves shims and timing are good, Cleaned the cacarburetor checked the piston and rings all look in good condition.

Im unable to check compression as the fitting does not fit into the spark plug socket say. I can get 1 or 2 treads on only thats it. Ill need a narrower fitting or one with a long tread atleast.

She turns over but just will not fire.

Now 1 thing that is bothering me abit !!!

There is 3 places to check timing the 2 lines on the cam gear at top of engine should be flat with the case head the dot on the sprocket when you peep through the hole on the right side casing. These 2 line up 100%, however the 3rd spot on the left case has 2 marks on the fly wheel which are a little firward past the TDC mark when the other two are perfect. Does it have much relevance??

I opened both sides of thr case. The fly wheel is on a woodruff key and it all looks good so I dint think I can adjust on that side ( the left side that doesnt line up. )

The right side all the doys on the 3 sprockets all see lined up and good however I don't think I can turn those on the shaft to line up the other side as the are on teeth but also have a cut out to line them up on the shaft.

Alot of info I know but any info would be great appriated.

    TThank you.

Remove the air filter and crank it over while spraying Easy Start into the intakes. What happens?

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,

I'm raptured by the joy of it all.

have you gotten a spark at all?
I'd check the wiring going to the CDI, could be something shorting out there

Does it have a manual choke?

If so, the carburettor(s) might be getting flooded.

If it is flooded, turn the choke off, have the throttle wide open, then try to start it.
