Couldn't see a thread for this. The Rock in a biographical drama of UFC fighter Mark Kerr. Talk of him getting an Oscar nomination and it's getting decent reviews. Anyone seen it?

    Saw it, hated it.

It didn't give me a good sense of why we needed a movie. So boring, fights edited with zero hype or feeling. Very weird narration over a lot of the movie that tries to be match commentary but had no feeling and took me out of everything.

So many poor film making elements.

Unusual biopic, which feels like it has no point. I kept waiting for it to go somewhere that would make me think "I see why they made this now". It was just to shine a light on Mark Kerr, to end by literally pointing out that he was an early UFC star, but nowadays they are more famous and paid more. That's it.

The relationship, the drugs and recovery never really amount to anything interesting on screen. The relationship was most the more interesting part but there isn't any depth to it. They are loving, then toxic together, rinse and repeat.

The Rock decided he wanted an Oscar and produced and stared in a movie he thought would be Oscar bait Thats why it was made.
