Disagree. I think CC has definitely been coached more for this one. Coming across a lot calmer this time.

Jim just can't do public speaking.

CC being asked about Ní Shonnain.

CC saying "I was not misled" about her background

Saying Éirgi is a registered political partyand an anti fascist party. Humphreys says that it "wants to pull down the Good Friday Agreement'.

New revelations. Lawlor the presenter says CC wrote to Meath Co.Council to support this woman's planning application.

CC's campaign not doing a great job attracting disaffected voters, aligning herself with antifa

Heather is trying to make as much hay on this one as she can.

HH doing much better than first debate.

This race is only heating up- FG trying to sow doubt in moderate voters re Connolly fitness for office

If by shouting over her and interrupting to try and get the camera back on her

    CC handles a difficult question.

    Gavin drowning with one.

I don't think so at all, JG in particular is far more natural, none of the silly hand gestures, seems more sincere.

He's just essentially acknowledged stealing that person's money though so his campaign is done

Ah Jim.. Bad move trying to deflect on that one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,074 ✭✭✭Ozymandius2011

Newspaper (not sure if it's Sunday Independent or Mail on Sunday) says Ursula Ní Shonnain was under Garda surveillance while working for Connolly.

Lawlor questioning JG on an unregistered flat he was letting to a tenant.

Also on the Women of Honour group saying it "beggars belief" that JG didn't know what was going on in the army regarding sexual harrassment when in the air corps. JG replied that had he known he would have acted on it. CC saying he can't see how he couldn't have known. JG saying she has no way of knowing what he saw or didn't see.

Gavin is just terrible. Just what was MM thinking?

i'm sure it's common knowledge, but the fact that HH's official 'elect me' website does not make any mention of the words 'fine gael' is kinda funny.

He still made a hames of the tenant's money question.

Sitting down directly infront of a presenter stops exaggerated hand gestures. Different setting than a podium.

What an odd answer from Jim. He can't recall if he received an overpayment but still shared his sob story of financial difficulties at the time?

Because even they know that FG is toxic to a significant part of the electorate.

The arrogance isn't far from the surface though - the other night it was that housing is an issue for those who can't get one (though she's trying to refine this today as I type), and earlier on reforming the presidential nomination process that she got the nomination.

I don't think Heather's more aggressive style will help either.

Granted her laid back one didn't either!

    Just a hard listen!

Heather is getting cranky now. Not the right move

Can anyone clarify on what she actually said? Cause I'm not the most trusting of vague statements like this.

Looks like CC has it in the bag. The other two coming across horribly.

HH just after saying "I absolutely condone drink driving" XD

Haha.. Evil move asking a question in Irish knowing that Heather doesn't speak it.

Of course, neither do most of the audience I'd wager.

JG should have dealt with the rent thing before today. He had over 24hrs and if he couldn't figure it out he should have refunded the money in good faith before going on TV today. "I can't remember the details, it was 16 years ago, I am not sure how this happened but I have fully refunded the gentleman in good faith while I continue to investigate etc."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,074 ✭✭✭Ozymandius2011

Lawlor asking if there should be a debate in Irish. CC answers in Irish. This is a bit unfair because HH and JG aren't fluent, and most won't understand what CC is saying.

Surprise: HH spoke a little Irish there. Might get some marks for effort from Gaeilgeoirs.

Yep, the smears and mud have really stuck so far haven't they?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,128 ✭✭✭harryharry25

Aine "Did you owe a tenant 3300 euro and have you paid it back yet"

Jim "it was a stressful time for me and my family"

    Aine"have you paid it back"

    Jim "I had finanical difficulties"

Did this clown not know this question would come up and hadn't thought of an answer

It's clear as day he hasn't paid this money back. Horrible individual

as far as I’m concerned this is not a debate - it is a needlessly aggressive interview rushed in places.

Yep it's something that could have been dealt with with a call to the tenant and a bank transfer. Presumably he and FF would have gotten the heads up on the article before it published too.

Then to try and deflect it and make it about him and his family when questioned today is just a bad look.
