Southgate would be a disaster imo. Tournament every 2 years with no kuch squad time compared to club football.

They'll give him the year, get in some midfielders over Xmas and see how they go.

INEOS had to take a loan out for this summer just gone so funds again will be a issue.

Midfield has been a issue aince Carrick so don't think it would impact the next guy for the job.

Sunderland will be a tough game tomorrow.

Need to stop Xhaka running things. My opinion one of the shrewdest and best signings of the season for a team thats just been promoted. Such a clever signing for them.

Edit: should add they've only conceded 4 goals so far.

Is Brexit Jim the bad guy yet?

My hope is that when it eventually becomes clear that he's worse than the Glazers, he's fucked out with them.

Roefs could be a big challenger to Xhaka for signing of the season.

Why do you think he is worse? I’m not having a go at you but I’m curious as to why you think he is worse?

I think even just starting with the investment he has made in the club to revamp the training ground alone should tell us that he isn’t worse? Without even thinking too much, another one would be the hiring of football people into football positions would mean he isn’t worse. Cutting costs to try and make the club sustainable again is another big one.

Glazers lack of investment, hiring non-football people into football roles, taking dividends while the debt rises, allowing the club to leak massive amounts of money over years and years with over staffing and careless spending are all reasons why I would find it hard to say they’re better than what SJR is offering.

Things I don’t like are mainly his ticket price rises but at the same time, it maybe wouldn’t have been needed or wouldn’t have been so harsh if the finances of the club weren’t a mess based on the Glazers’ doing. I don’t really want a new stadium either but whatever, it’s probably needed. That’s just a sentimental thing for me.

The Amorim thing isn’t a reason for me to say he’s worse than them. They will probably have to make a decision soon if things continue though.

we have bruno, cas, kob and urgate and you worried by Xhaka?

United to win by 3 clear goals today

He prevented the Glazers from being bought out.

He endorsed the UK leaving the EU

He hired and fired Dan Ashworth at significant cost while sacking low paid staff who did nothing wrong.

He is definitely now a bigger problem for the club than the Glazers as he is actually making a bad situation worse.

He's contradicting Ornstein....Though I'd say it's not going to happen.

I would agree with most of your points FourFourRed but as long as he is propping up the Glazers with no clear succession plan to take ownership he is playing his part in ruining this club.

Improving training grounds is great but considering how outdated they had become it’s just what any decent club should be doing.

The Glazers have no football interest in our club and Jim had removed a lot of the heat from them.

I’d say they have a laugh when we blame the demise of the club on many scapegoats such as ETH , Rashford, Medical staff etc, and now of course the biggest problem is Bruno.

The question was is he worse than them. The arguments laid out by the poster above are poor and doesn’t convince me that they are.

Layoffs - most people laid off in a business haven’t done anything wrong. It’s unfortunate but it happens all around the world - because it’s happened at a football club you support, that doesn’t mean it deserves special attention. Look at who caused the need for the layoffs before blaming the people who had to do it.

Ashworth - it looks amateur but sometimes things don’t work out. He would have been well compensated.

Prevented a full buyout - maybe he did. Wasn’t there concerns that this Sheikh didn’t have the funds? I don’t know.

The point about the training ground is that yes, it should be what any decent club should be doing - but they weren’t doing, until Ratcliffe came in and did it - the poster saying he is worse than them, doesn’t add up to me.

This who is worse than the other debate will be pointless anyway.

Anyone who thinks that Sir Jim is as bad or worse then the Glazers, is away with the fairies imo.

Imo, to think that you are either out of touch with reality or just saying it for reaction/dramatic effect.

They are light years apart and if you cant see that.... well I really dont know what to say.

Listening to some of what Ornstein was coming out with yesterday, it does seem like he was being fed some bullshit.

Totally agree. Miles better than the Glazers.

I would like to be hearing a lot more about a full take over as was mooted at the beginning.

We could have Keane, Robson,Iniesta, Cryuff, Batman, Michael Scott, Celin Dion and Jesus of Nazareth in that midfield and we'd still manage to screw it up.

Jim is just trying to get us relegated so the share price tanks and he can buy out the parasites for a bargain price and then lead us on a glorious resurgence

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 167 ✭✭DFGrange

As bad as the Glazers are Brexit Jim has steered the club to 15th in the league. I'd be getting rid of that idiot before Amorim otherwise we just more of the same terrible C -suite decisions.

You'd be getting be getting 3 for the price of 1 with Jesus.

    Great value.

He is a specialist in failure when it comes to football so this was all to be expected. Ask any Nice or Lausanne fan

Does anyone else absolutely roll their eyes when they see an Irish person on an Irish forum refer to Ratcliffe as Brexit Jim? I've seen rival fans doing it in an effort to throw a bit of charter safe shade at the club but its bled in here recently too. Hilarious.

Will Amorim be ruthless with any of his selections today i wonder.

Id love you to expand on this why would those fans be so annoyed, how big was the fall off from when inoes took over until now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,274 ✭✭✭mobydopy

Lots of rumours on X that Lammens starts today

Hopefully that's not the only surprise in the starting lineup

Who knows what's required for Shaw or Dalot to get dropped. Bruno still in midfield. Absolutely nothing learned from last week.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Cuhna had a poor enough game, gets benched for Mount. Bruno, one of the worst players on the pitch last week along with Dalot, play away lads, nothing to see here.

Whats it 5 6 changes from last week?

Glad Cuhna was dropped tbh I thought his shot selection last week was awful and he deffo phoned in a bit of pressing. Two inverting full backs and tbf to dalot he looked decent in attacking situations in his one game at lwb
