i think taylor has at least 10 years of releasing hit albums i,d love to see her make an album of the greatest hits of the 90,s ,or aughties cover versions of love songs eg love takes time, you,re still the one etc

I can't really say her music is bad, but think about this… if you were to compare Brittany Spears' best song to Taylor's best. Or take Shania Twain's best and compare it to that. Or even take Lady Gaga's best.

Do you see the point I'm making? Everyone's heard of Taylor but there's a huge amount of people out there who wouldn't be able to name a single song of hers. Taylor will never write a truly decent song.

Im not a Taylor Swift fan by any means, but I will admit she has released some excellent pop songs.

New album 'The Life of a Showgirl' - not impressed at all. Easy to see now why all of the different vinyl variants were being pushed on pre-order etc. Poor effort.

I like it, but I had very low expectations from the roll out.

I like Taylor Swift but the new album is pretty abysmal, lyrically horrendous.

Maybe she needs to switch back to Jack Antonoff rather than doing her next one with Max Martin....

Definitely, he’s lost it. Wood sounds like there’s a Jackson 5 sample and the title track song seems like a complete copy of the Jonas Brothers song Cool. I like all these songs and will listen to this album but when listening to them I can’t help but think Taylor always gave us originality, great bridges, interesting chord progressions. Don’t hear that in this and think the Max Martin and Shelback combo is a bit of a disaster for someone like Taylor at this stage. Antanoff was getting a lot of unfair criticism.

I've been nurturing my fandom of Taylor for some time now and although I like Tortured Poets Department and Red the best, I think she's turned out another quietly artistic fusion of old school pop and modern dance.

Life of a Showgirl was written on Taylor's European Eras tour, and is an ode to 80's/90's pop. What a wonderful girl she is and reminds me of one of my teenage crushes back in the 90's.

Having said all that, and being an Irish man myself, I really fell for her because of her country background and roots, and would prefer her to pivot back to that version of her music and self. She really has to now make a move back to country.
