Yes. It's HIM. He also did a lot of "Clunk Click" PIFs. None about keeping your kids away from paedos though.

Blip blip blip blip.. This is the sound of peace

Almost shat myself as a kid when we were on holidays in the city of Waterford and we went into a pub for lunch, they had HTV from Wales, this was on before World of Sport with Dickie Davis started, they never showed anything like that on UTV. Although they sometimes had ads for joining the UDR 😯

This is a faked up message but in the 1970s and 1980s "Police Messages" on UTV and BBC NI were all too real and often popped up in primetime TV. They'd overlay a message over the live video dimming it by about 50%, they'd usually then mute the programme audio and read out the message which was already on screen

But they'd never say there was a bomb or a suspected bomb, they'd just request keyholders to return to their premises as soon as possible

Did they really think 'we'd survive if we knew what areas were safe from nuclear fallout?'.

The reality was that nowhere was safe from nuclear fallout given the number and density of targets in the UK. All airports and ports in Ireland would be targets too

Meanwhile countries like Switzerland actually insisted that fallout shelters be provded for the population. My wife's brother lives over there and yes, there is a well equpped fallout shelter in the basement!

I think the UK took the approach that the more people killed in the initial attack the better, because then fewer people would have to be provided for. They did have the concept of "feeding centres" but these would not release food until at least a week after an attack. Most likely two weeks - because that was the advice in Protect and Survive - and a lot of people who copped a radiation dose would die off in that time.

In Ireland, head is in sand / up anus as usual. Shure doesn't everyone love us? And aren't we "neutral" ? 🙄
