Anyway, loving the reinvention of the EP thread as somewhere we discuss other, better festivals.

Joking of course. We should probably take that stuff elsewhere.

The best venues are very close together and what I usually do with something like this is choose one venue for the afternoon and another for the evening so I'm not wandering around from place to place facing the odd queue. Sounds like Liverpool did it better but Manchester's pubs & venues are superior.

Glad to see Tame Impala announce a show here next year.

Hopefully that keeps them away from EP or ATN. Decent band, cool stage show and some good songs, but found then a snoozefest at EP a couple of years back

only touring an indoor arena tour next year. No festivals. Last arena tour production with the ring was phenomenal

I can imagine their music been more suited to that EA headliner

The Mary Whitehouse Experience was excellent TV. Actually saw Utah Saints at Feile '93 or '94. One of the highlights of my weekend.

Agree, I think the ring and their intensity was lost on the EP main stage.

The Cure announced for IOW on 18-21 June and other dates coming through. Playing Rock en Seine the same weekend as EP so what are the chances?

As is IOW apparently if they're alongside Calvin Harris, Barry Swims & Lewis Capaldi.

I think there's a fair chance but doing IOW almost certainly means no Reading/Leeds. Given that FR have announced that they've two headliners ready for those festivals and also two for EP the chances of the acts being the same are high.

Also, would it be the wrong audience for the Fontaines (an act greatly inspired by The Cure) cos they're headlining soon.

I just do not understand the Teddy Swims popularity, it's all surface, no depth, like an album of lost Gillette razor advert sound tracks.

It's not that it's actively bad (though it is kind of), it's that there's nothing there, music designed by algorithm.

IOW has always been geared towards older clientele. Look at the initial 2026 lineup, it’s overwhelming booked for those in late 30’s-50’s.

I was at the last two shows here by the cure in Ireland. The crossover of that audience and the EP is very slim. Different story between EP and Fontaines.

And the roundabout that EP caters primarily to people in 20’s and 30’s and books accordingly. Other festivals book to different demographics

I'd never heard of him until today. He's just been announced as a headliner for one of the Belsonic shows next year.
