Good man. People who do no research asking people to do some research.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,677 ✭✭✭✭FourFourRED

Maybe not a big deal but it is typical of his professionalism levels in recent years. After a great night Thursday, surely he would be determined to keep that going and show everyone what you can do next. Arrive to training with plenty of time to be prepared for a good session. Keep the momentum going. Apparently not.

Giving your manager no choice but to drop you for the next game is a step backwards for him. The difference with Raphinha is that when he comes back into the team following disciplinary action, he will stay there. Rashford is someone who has to fight harder for a place and he just doesn’t help himself.

Frank, I have done the research. You are embarrasing yourself. Do you really believe ‘I am right, even though nobody agrees with me, every other poster disagrees with me, but i am right!’. Seriously chap, do your research. He was Nottingham, then he switched. Like changing his name, even he doesnt dipsute this, only the easily led do.

Mark Goldbridge supports Man United in crisis. That’s his business model. Why waste your time arguing about him.

He brought Rashford on at HT. I genuinely think this will be forgotten about pretty quick. All the indications are that Rashford has been very professional at Barca so far.

Just typical for him to show up in a big televised game, versus an English team in the champions league, keep his name ticking over for another few months, That's the man to a T

He's got previous for this type of behaviour though. He should know better at this stage, he's trying to secure a permanent move to Barca as well so you would think he'd be trying to leave no stone unturned.

Maybe it will be an isolated incident but it certainly doesn't give a good impression.

Yep, I’m watching. Nice assist there. I’m not suggesting it won’t be forgotten about but when you’re someone who is less likely to be first choice compared to the others when everyone is fit, you should be taking full advantage of the momentum from Thursday.

I see the same **** posted on forums that isn't true. He didn't change his name, he couldn't use his real name when he was in the police. Even if I dislike him, at least get the facts right. Stop following the sheep.

Literally stories of Barca considering cutting his loan short up to last week.

While we might hate social media "fans", what kind of reaction did Amad think he was going to get. Braindead stuff from him really.

Not sure how a well run club let's players get themselves into these situations.

Spotted a video of Garnacho warning up on the side line at the match, he went to Yoro to embrace him and Yoro literally gave him a cold shoulder. Yoro read the room, Amad not so much.

Sounds lovely, but far from reality. Players get abuse thrown at them all the time. Posting such an idiotic post was only going to invite a negative reaction.

I'll make the distinction with racist abuse, that is never acceptable for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,777 ✭✭✭Iseedeadpixels

Our "fans" should never abuse our players full stop, he took a pic with his mate, fair enough it ended badly with Garnacho but it's a harmless post, our former players are always interacting with current players it's the norm now.

How embarrassing for you to continue to get this wrong. His birth name is Brent Di Cesare, he now goes by Mark Goldbridge. There’s an interview out there about why he picked that name. And he says he changed it because of his police history. Anyway i’m stopping polluting this thread with this irrelevance, feel free to continue to post your incorrect nonsense

It was clearly a request from his agency, the agency they both belong to. Maybe he should have said no, maybe Garnacho should have said no, but it is also clearly an agency thing.

I don’t really get all the Nacho hate. I’m glad he’s moved on, but he did give us some great moments. Considering his dip in form, selling him for a decent profit was good business. He might need to adjust his attitude a bit, but he’s still a very good footballer. I genuinely wish him the best and would love to see him fulfil his potential, maybe even earn a move to Madrid one day.

Hate maybe a strong word, but would any employer keep a person who behaved so childish as he did with a attitude and lack of work rate?

He only has himself to blame. It would be tolerated in no other line of employment not sure why football would be any different.

I expecting a Marcus Rashford and Gary Lineker exclusive any hour now. The standards in Barcelona have dipped dramatically.

after winning at the weekend I was wondering what the toxic topic would be for the week.

    Rashford it is.

I think what’s most frustrating is that he has so much talent but didn’t manage to fulfil it with us. While it’s fair to question his attitude, we also have to remember he’s only 21. Players in their early 20s today can be more vocal and sometimes a bit petulant, Mainoo has shown glimpses of that too. Hopefully he can still turn that talent into something special elsewhere.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,937 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

Discuss what you want. I merely find the continued attacks on him pointless at this stage. "Gary Linekr interview on the way". Yeah, that one he has done in his career sure is a sign of things to come. Rashford is now proof of barcelona's standard dropping dramatically. Right. Sure. Marcus the boogey man out to ruin football.

    100% agree.

He has the talent. But his carry on was just not worth it.

Im glad he is gone from United point of view. We don't need that especially now.

Mainoo been same but Garnacho really waa acting so poorly and so unprofessional. 21 is young but it wasn't just isolated incident here or there.

I don't really get the strong anti-Garnacho sentiment either tbh.

A new Coach came in and he found himself trying to adapt to a new position that wasn't natural for him. Sure, his performance levels slipped and maybe his attitude could have been better. But he's a young lad, just recently turned 21. Young players make mistakes, they're not always perfect in what they do and say. And it seems the relationship with Amorim wasn't very good from the get-go either.

Which young players if you put their behavior under the microscope wouldn't appear in a negative light sometimes? Rooney had some transgressions in his day, even when he was older than Garnacho.

Garnacho had his good days in a United jersey. Played well in an FA Cup final win over City and in a number of other games also.

It's clear he didn't fit into Amorim's plans, and it did appear that his standards had slipped where workrate is concerned so it made sense to move him on. He'll have to show what he can do at Chelsea and try and nail down a regular place in the team. But personally I won't be wishing failure or bad things on him.

Nothing would have been said if he wasn’t dropped for disciplinary reasons of his own making? It’s a talking point. He scored two good goals last week and that was commented on by some.

You don’t like seeing people commenting on Rashford’s issues. Maybe some people don’t like seeing you hammer the manager’s team selection before a ball has even been kicked.

Considering it's still not 100% if Rashford will or will not leave Man Utd for Barcelona it is completely fair game as a topic if he is getting dropped from games due to poor time keeping etc..

I think we all want Rashford to do well over there and get his permanent move so relaying updates in the Utd thread is a valid topic. Not everyone would be aware he was dropped.

As has been pointed out Flick has form for this and in the past has tended to not hold a grudge. Rashford came on at HT still.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,874 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

I wonder did Flick break a promise to Rashford that then made him show up late?

People were quick to forget he was already testing Barca's patience after his midweek goals. Him immediately following it by being unprofessional is the same routine he always does.
