    Hi

I'm thinking of buying a wired ring doorbell. But before I do I wanted to check whether my existing chime, transformer, etc was compatible. I have an old mechanical chime. See below pics

This is the pic of the transformer in the Fusebox.

    Thank you.

    Ok thanks.

Do you think I have to do anything with the wiring of the existing chime?

One thing to note is that not all wired rings will trigger the chime. You can power the ring from it, but it won't ding-dong the chime.

Another is to check the ring manual for chime wiring instructions. Mine just wouldn't work until I updated the terminals it was wired to on the chime

I tried to do it today. Got the ring doorbell working but there was no chime in the house. Only notification would be on the phone. So I had to put the old one back on.

I don't think your old chime can easily be made work from a ring doorbell. You need a dedicated one or connect it wirelessly to something like an echo dot (Alexa). That will announce when there's movement or someone presses the button.
