Turning colder tonight for me with lows of 5ºc further east temperatures won't fall below 11ºc , last night was very warm with lows of 15ºc which is almost equally to day time highs at this time of year

Whatever about warnings be cancelled, tipping down all afternoon in Greystones. 13.2mm so far today. Met E showing rain here all the way through to Sunday morning.

Lads how have we dodged a bullet its raining all day and will be same again tomorrow in Dublin!

Only in Ireland when its pissing rain all day can people say ah well it could have been worse😁

The rainfall amounts will be very deceptive this month. Might not be huge amounts everyday but has lashed rain nearly every day in September in Dublin.

Exactly, a dreary, damp, rain on and off day in Laois. but could have been worse😅

Not a cold day but that darkness of Halloween or November.

It will be a long winter if we don't get a bit of dry weather and a few hours sun a day. The Equinox around Sunday too.

Some of the charts were showing a months worth of rain to fall in 48 hours. That on top of the rain that's already fallen this month would have been quite nasty, and set us up quite poorly for the winter. If we get a wet winter I'd rather not be going into October with already saturated ground. Still a rotten weekend for the E and SE alright but most definitely we've dodged a bullet.

A most incredible sunset here in Roscommon. Can’t get a picture but a wall of orange sky illuminating the sky

It’s like a winter’s evening out there in Arklow,a night for the cinema or a tall stool

    Now 17mm

Stunning sunset indeed on the Kerry coast. Dry all day apart from a few drops late afternoon.

That was a lovely sunset. Dry here in Castlebar with good sunshine for the afternoon and evening. Nice to see high pressure next week.

Only yesterday morning we were being shown epic amounts of rain for tomorrow in midlands/south/south east but now next to nothing in those areas. Quite unusual I would have thought to have such uncertainty only two days out. Looks to be chilly this weekend with a northerly wind setting in.

22.4mm in Arklow now and quite wet outside

You're well in the yellow and green rainfall radar area. By the end you'll have a fair total.

After all the speculation, what type of weather will we all get today?

Foggy here this morning. We are starting to see the Autumn weather that I love.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Stunning Morning. Cool with sunshine and mist.

    Fenagh GAA. Leitrim. New floodlights.

Today looks like a dull damp day, much better than what it was supposed to be, thankfully any rain will be light and showery in nature.

Possibly a wet afternoon ahead for east coast fringe south of Dublin. Looks like rain back building from Irish Sea. Can see heavy looking rain just off the coast off Greystones.

Calm waters all the way to Aran Islands. Lovely morning when sun broke through the fog.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Pishing down here in South Wicklow. We're stuck under a heavy band of rain that's going nowhere fast. Trying to get some fencing done but it may have to wait until tomorrow.

Lucky to have avoided that so far in Greystones. Just spitting.

pouring all day here in Arklow unfortunately

24hr total just gone above 32mm

Very fortunate here near Tralee with most of the rain staying off the coast, just one shower in town, dry out where I live, sunny spells and very pleasant afternoon, more cloud cover now and feeling that bit cooler when the sun goes in but grand out. Got down to 6.3C overnight and cool fresh air this morning but got up to 15.8C for a time and currently 13.9C, a small fire lit most nights now, could see the heating going on over the coming days being under the cooler airmass. Winds turned more N'ly.

The first cold incursion of the Autumn this weekend is going to be a notable change at night inland across the south Midlands. Temperatures tomorrow night getting close to freezing.

There is a cold edge to the breeze today. Love this time of year.

    Lucky the rain missed Ireland.

It's absolutely pelting down on the football on TV in UK. Blackburn game suspended as the pitch is unplayable.

Dirty evening in places an odd rumble of thunder in the midlands

I escaped with just one short moderate shower today but cloudy with a cold northerly breeze in Meath. Parts of Wales like Anglesey are getting serious rain.

    Beautiful sunset again

Feels later than the 20th September. With bangers going off in Portlaoise it reinforces that feeling.

After a drier interlude, rain's back in Greystones. Windy too.
