They quoted him in a text

something along the line of '' i hadn't planned on telling anyone until my old age '' so he didn't plan on getting caught .

Interesting. Why would he have written memes related to that movement on the bullets that he used?

Sounds like he was just a repressed guy who had recently come to terms with his sexuality and took umbrage with Kirk's anti trans rhetoric.

The messages between him and the boyfriend seem hilariously staged to absolve the boyfriend of any prior knowledge imo. No one talks like that to their partner. I mean, he mentions that he knew about him engraving bullets would you not at least ask why he was doing that?

Put yourself in any other western country and ask the same questions...

The Democrat representative that was killed a few months ago, how could the chances of that happening be reduced?

I would urge you to think through any answer rather than answer hastily.

Did I read a post here earlier saying something along the lines 'we may never know the motivation of the killer"? Anyway, seems to me the initial speculation was spot on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,601 ✭✭✭✭charlie14

I was wondering about that earlier with there being no reason given for them in the prosecutors statement.

Far as I know, and there may be some here who know more, they are hardcore right wing memes related to a group that also had a deep dislike of Kirk, where they would not be generally known to many outside of that group, or to someone who researched that group.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,042 ✭✭✭ceadaoin.

No he's not a part of that group. He apparently dressed up as one of those memes for Halloween years ago, but the ones on the bullets are more to do with gaming or other subcultures. Its been said on multiple occasions, the most recent today, that he said Charlie Kirk was "spreading hate", and that he had become involved in gay and trans rights of late. He even complained in a group chat that his family were "diehard magas".

I think we can drop the notion that he assassinated a guy for not being right wing enough.

The note that no longer exists because it was destroyed but the FBI have forensic evidence from it somehow and know what it contained due to their "aggressive interview posture" according to Kash Patel. The same Kash Patel that said in front of a Senate panel yesterday that there was no credible evidence Epstein trafficking women. Ghislaine Maxwell was jailed for sex trafficking, so how has he and the FBI come up with the idea that Epstein had nothing to do with it! Either way in doesn`t say much for the FBIs credibility nowadays.

What this note allegedly said was " I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I`m going to take it" No mention of anyone other than himself. No hard left group involved. No mention of Democrats either.

    On the no mention.

No mention of your "proof" from you being privy to what Governor Cox knew, or what you were also privy too from Robinsons`s family and friends that showed the killing was due by the left that I asked you for. Not that I`m alone in not knowing, the prosecutor from today statement apparently doesn`t know either.

The evidence of the note that they "somehow" have is a photo that the roommate took of it and the fbi retrieved. Im presuming the roommate is the one who destroyed the note after he read it and took a photo. Its hardly complicated.

Far as I recall was it not Trump he dressed up as for one Halloween and the meme is from a photo by his mother where she said he was doing some kind of meme where he was squatting dressed in Adidis tracksuit and wearing a flat cap for another. Not that it really matters,

I very much doubt that he shot Kirk because he had become a far right wing convert, but after today I think we can also drop the notion that he did it because he became a member of the Democrats or a member of some mysterious far left-wing group where he became a radicalized convert

Where did it say today that he had become involved in gay and trans rights, and even if he did so what. As to his family being "diehard magas". Far as I recall he said his father had become a hard maga supporter, and from the only statement I have seen from a family member his grandmother confirmed that.

Pretty complicated to get forensic evidence from a note that you only have a photo off I imagine.

I have no problem with the photo off the note being genuine, but Patel`s horse manure of the FBI obtaining it due to their "aggressive interview posture" when all and sundry said the roommate was fully and willingly cooperating with the authorities and his further horse manure yesterday on Epstein didn`t do much for his credibility or that by association of the FBI.

For clarity on what Patel said, Maxwell was convicted of trafficking women and underage girls to/for Epstein. What Patel said was the FBI had no evidence that Epstein in turn trafficked them to anyone else.

I find that hard to believe as well but it begs the question if such information exists within the FBI since Maxwells trial in 2021 why the prior administration did not release it, especially if it implicated Trump or other Republicans.

It suggests to me that the others involved with Epstein’s activities are from across the political spectrum and neither side want full disclosure regardless of all the posturing.

It was said at the court today

The charges include the allegation that Robinson targeted Kirk because of “Robinson’s belief or perception regarding Charlie Kirk’s political expression.”

Robinson’s mother told police that her son had “began to date his roommate, a biological male who was transitioning genders,” the court document said.

And she said that over the last year or so, Robinson had become more political and had “started to lean more to the left – becoming more pro-gay and trans-rights oriented,” according to the documents.

That resulted in discussions with family members, especially between Robinson and his father, who had differing political views. Robinson had accused Kirk of spreading hate, Gray said. The messages obtained by investigators between Robinson and his roomate include Robinson noting that “since trump got into office [my dad] has been pretty diehard maga.”

One wonders what MAGA mom here thought was 'more to the left,' but it's good enough for US Pols and their cosplayers to rabbit on about it.

I don't think it could be much clearer

In the charging documents, prosecutors said the suspect sent text messages confessing to the shooting and saying of Charlie Kirk, “I had enough of his hatred.” and that “some hate can’t be negotiated out,”
    :
His mother told the police that her son "had moved to the left, politically"

and become “more pro-gay and trans-rights oriented,” prosecutors said

But, the IT has the real deal apparently.

Unbelievable … "a desire for virality". None so blind …

going on the total control Trump has over ALL the levers of power including those with access to ANY INFORMATION I would not thrust any of them to vput the complete truth forward. They all know that they could be ‘sacked’, demoted, their organisation ‘ neutered’, funding reduced or even sued.

Trump and ‘his people’ could also ‘direct’ individuals what to say when it suits their agenda eg Robinsons parents

So it looks like the initial prediction was correct.

    A left wing loon.

…'Robinsons parents' who imo have gotten a huge free ride through all this. Who educated the shooter? Who sat around at family dinners spewing MAGAism which, at its root is, join our club and we applaud you for hating people we hate? Who taught him to shoot? The fruit never falls far from the tree.

And it's his 'parents' saying he had some 'left wing' ideas. Well, who defined them as left wing? What were they - respect for others? Love thy neighbour? They were already in a cult - Mormonism - and just simply segued the family into another one. Who made those decisions? His parents. The fathers in Mormon households are absolute authorities backed by their Church, and the mothers are full-time facilitators. I don't give the creepy LDS cult a pass - visiting Utah is always 'interesting,' but at least their Elder did give them good legal advice that Robinson should turn himself in. Couldn't have the LDS Church be complicit in his not doing that, the Elders are likely mandatory reporters.

His mother told the police that her son "had moved to the left, politically"

Fúcking hell he was pro basic fundamental human rights, the radical left loon.

Just goes to show how troubled that country is that an actual prosecutor is reading that out in court.

Sky News showed the prosecutor's speech last night. It must have been at least 10-15 minutes long where he went through much of the evidence. At the end, he went through the whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing. He was quite impressive, saying he was innocent at this point, regardless of any statements to the contrary by public officials - an oblique reference to Trump maybe. There are still tons of people in the US who take their jobs seriously and are not afraid of Donald Trump.

Yes, great article, thank you for the link.

The US are really fugged. All that anxiety about loss of power vis-à-vis China has turbocharged the insanity. It doesn’t surprise me that pundits from across the spectrum unite to make a martyr out of him. Those on the Left wanting to cool things down, those on the Right to increase his MAGA marketability.

Chump will use this as a weapon to further transform the country into his personal fiefdom. The opposition is as meek as Bud Lite.

Man realised that he was not placed where he thought on the sexuality spectrum and began to have a selfish reaction to hate being spewed towards either him or the person he seemed to be in love with.

But this is apparently clear left wing thought. Never mind that he knew all those terms from this groyper movement. That part of it we'll just skirt under the table because his parents said he disagreed with them on one thing.

so at the moment, we still have no clear idea where he sits on the political spectrum, except on trans issues. his family would obviously consider that a left leaning position (as would most), but seemingly would still fit in with some alt-right subcultures, which some indications show he was aligned with.

so we're none the wiser; and there are no clear indications he was particularly political which have surfaced. he's a bit of a cipher.

Ya I'm sort of finding it odd that he apparently wasn't vocally opposed to Trump. Surely he would also be a lightning rod for the left?

Ironically, Charlie Kirk would be perfectly fine with this person having access to a gun.

Weird, nothing has been confirmed by the FBI on that, you know, the ones investigating this.

    You best let them know.

    From the BBC:

Robinson: Why did I do it?

    Roommate: Yeah

Robinson: I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can't be negotiated out.

    Ted Cruz recently quoted:

"They don’t kill you because you’re a Nazi, they call you a Nazi so they can kill you."

They go throwing around the N word like it's confetti these days. The media has a lot to answer for.
