It's very simple.

Charlie Kirk is viewed by many here as some sort of monster. Alt-right, far-right, Nazi, Racist, White Supremacist, Fascist… all the well-known buzzwords have been flung at him.

Meanwhile, MLK is viewed as this saintly figure, who is venerated and regarded as some Christ-like figure who has never done anything wrong in his life. This is despite the evidence that he was a serial cheat and a notorious womaniser who would have certainly gotten himself cancelled in today's morality, never mind troubling reports of him encouraging a rape.

The reality is that Kirk is not the monster he is portrayed as, and MLK is not this historical saint either. They are human beings with certain qualities and faults, like all humans.

In fact, if the two were alive, I'd wager they would sit down and have a good ol' debate and talk about nothing and everything. They would talk, debate and shake hands after and maybe have dinner.

Sadly, both were murdered because of their views.

This endless going on about how 'bad' or 'evil' a person is, is just feeding the very algorithms ye lot claim to hate.

So you have no problem with a doctor being suspended for exercising his right to free speech?

How many people's lives have been put at risk because of this doctor being suspended for saying something in the vicinity of someone he's never met because they support Kirk's views?

plenty of kids from disadvantaged kids do indeed make it on their own, plenty more fall by the wayside due to not having the supports required which well off kids take for granted.

It may be predominantly coloured kids that are most disadvantaged but no doubt plenty of of disadvantaged white kids would also deserve an opportunity if meeting criteria,.

I guess if you reposted a facebook post that Indians were eating household pets in Dublin, that for some reason wouldnt be racist, and would be acceptable. I guess in that world nothing is racist.

The credibility of him witnessing a rape is firstly entirely in question so at best it's gossip. Him having affairs has also never been in doubt and it's pretty much frequently mentioned if you read or listen to anything about him, in the same way as it's mentioned with Kennedy. We naturally don't liken JFK to Jeffrey Epstein, Bill Cosby or Harvey Weinstein cause it's a nonsensical comparison. So yes, he was a crappy husband but that doesn't negate the immense work he did for civil rights.

Meanwhile the kind of things Kirk said are recorded and verifiable. Some are indeed taken out of context but there's plenty that is pretty clearly horrible even with contextualization. He didn't deserve to be murdered. But he's most definitely not half the man MLK was and I'd happily change that perspective on MLK if there was credible proof of the MLK claim you're relying on.

Except getting into an Ivy League University isn't actually simply based on grades. It's everything from involvements in sports to charity work to other extra curricular activities. There's even the interview process. So getting perfect grades doesn't actually guarantee you a spot in Harvard or anywhere else. It's incredibly unlikely that there grades weren't up to scratch and that's backed up by pretty much all their academic performance during their times in university...

Also just to point out, when Michelle Obama was in university, she was one of very few black students. That wasn't due to black people being less intelligent. But apparently this is what you believe.

It has brought out some interesting ideas about how religious people can not be homophobic and how its acceptable to spread rumours about minorities. Posters have definitely revealed alot about themselves in this thread.

Its a truly great look at the sort of person who thinks Kirky was an "outstanding intellectual". Charlie just needed a few extra braincells and he was a god.
