Communications Manager in the Civil Service - problems applying

Hi

I didn't see a thread for this campaign advertised on Public Jobs. The deadline is listed as Sept 18th. I however cannot log in to apply. I can log into my candidate profile no problem but when I click on the job it logs me back out, when I click apply it asks me to log in but it doesn't recognise my credentials.

I contacted Public Jobs and they said 'That competition may be on our new Oleeo platform' and that my old P.J. login would not work, so they directed me to register with a new platform, which looks exactly like the old one. I did this, but low and behold I still cannot apply for this job.

I tried to call Public Jobs support but no answer and the person i have emailed has stopped replying.

any help appreciated!

Have you tried another browser or device? Or clearing your cache/cookies?

I see professionaltechnical@publicjobs.ie is in the job spec, maybe try that and they can redirect you or have you tried the person named in the document?

Nothing yet, I'm pretty sure it was over 3 months by the time the shortlisting results came out for the 2023 competition, so sadly think there is still a bit of a wait before we find out anything.

I still have heard nothing yet on this campaign. the previous poster said it could take 3 months or more.

Applied April 2024.

May 2024 - Shortlisted re order of merit

June 2024 - They experienced an IT corruption failure/system error and were reprocessing applications

July 2024 - Revised shortlisting/OOM

Dec 2024 'We are now in a position to call the next batch of candidates forward to interview.'

Late January 2025 - Notified of upcoming online interview, including presentation

Feb 2025 - Online interview, 4 people, including the notetaker. Got positive feedback about three weeks later.

April 2025 - They started Garda vetting, etc. Copies of my degrees, passport, health declaration.

Mid-June 2025 - Assigned to a Department. End of interaction with Public Jobs. Then Department HR took over.

Great, enjoying it a lot. One additional point. Even after the interview, Public Jobs were very, very clear their updates didn't constitute an offer. That didn't happen until all the paperwork cleared.

a friend of mine unfortunately got a rejection email from this panel today. I have heard nothing yet so hoping no news is good news - hoping that’s a helpful update for anyone else waiting to hear!

I just got an email saying I passed but didn’t score highly enough to be called for first batch of interviews. “ you reached the qualifying standard at Shortlisting stage, you did not achieve a total score high enough to be part of the smaller group being invited to the first batch of Main interviews.”

I just got pretty much the same email. I reached the 'qualifying standard' but not high enough score for an interview. ah well, it was worth applying. I would like to know what score I got, and what score I needed. Best of luck to anyone else still waiting.

I just got the same! I replied asking for a bit more info… very hard to get a gauge of what the chances are with that email! Normally in other competitions they'd share a score or order of merit so not sure why they're giving us nothing this time…

yeah I must do the same. Who did you email? I just went on to the application platform and it says congratulations you have been shortlisted for interview. Clearly a mistake seeing as the email says otherwise.

Friends had this in the last comp and still got called and interviewed. Apparently loads didn't get through the interview process last time.

Mine says the same. We have been shortlisted, but not for the first batch. It could be a few months before we're called

Same here - I've sent an email asking if they can confirm if I'm still on a list to be called for interview, and if they can say where on an order of merit my application sits.

I just got an email saying they only called 8 people for interview in this batch 🙈 and they confirmed my OOM. Could be a while
