    Broadcasting
Sky Sports will continue to be the main legal tv source, showing two games live in the Sunday 6pm and 9.15 slots. They also have rights to 'most' standalone fixtures (SNF, TNF etc) but sadly not the Brazil game this Friday (youtube exclusive), and probably not the Christmas games (Netflix exclusive?). Sky will also show Redzone on the 'free channel' Sky Sports Mix.

Channel 5 UK are expanding their coverage (ITV is dropped). C5 will show a live game every Sunday at 6pm (expected to be a different game to Sky) and also another at ~9.15 (may sometimes be the same game as Sky). C5 will also show one game from each round of the play-offs (non-exclusive with Sky showing all play-off games).
C5 doesn't have great reach in Ireland - no word as yet whether on Irish broadcaster will come on board especially with a game in Dublin.

    LETS FCUKING GO.

C5 doesn't have great reach in Ireland

Is it tunable via "Other Channels" on a Sky box like most other UK Free To Air stations are ?

A fun first half - pretty dour second half not helped by the ~30 minute weather delay.
Bad drops by Ceedee when the game was there for the winning. Eagles didn't look like last seasons superstars, but doubtless happy enough with the win.

Does Jalen Carter get a ban for the spitting incident? With a trip to Arrowhead next week it would be a big deal.

Tonight seems to be a youtube exclusive, but no subscription necessary.
Maybe someone can post a clean link to it tomorrow morning (i.e. a link without the final score emblazoned on the screen).

I thought Dak looked great last night.

Yeah Dak had a great game, couldn't really fault him. CeeDee Lamb had a great first half too.

Messy enough game for the Eagles, especially on defence in the first half. Some bad penalties given away. Carter was an idiot for the spit. Reading that AJ Brown has a slight hamstring injury so that's why there was nothing really thrown to him, used him mostly as decoy only.

Not the strong start to the season I was hoping for, but Hurts, Barkley and Baun all had a great game.

Chargers v Chiefs is on YouTube, even here in Ireland.

First time they I've seen a rushed field goal attempt due to the clock running down. The Chiefs wereunable to get out of bounds on third down with about 12 seconds on the clock to half time and had to rush it back onto the pitch to attempt a field goal as they couldn't spike it on fourth down. They succeeded! 13-6 to the Chargers HT.

Everybody knows the Chargers are going to run it down your throat but not tonight.

Herbert 318 yards and 3 passing TDs with 36 rushing yards. They beat the Chiefs 27-21.

Mahomes was great and kept the score a lot closer than it might’ve been. Rice is out for another five weeks and friendly fire now has Worthy gone for what could be an extended period. The defense was mostly terrible too so it could be a tough year.

Chiefs have a tough opening stretch with at Eagles, Ravens, Lions, Commanders and at Bills in their first 9 games before the bye.
Better looking second half of the season, but definitely an opportunity for the rest of the league to put them at 4-5 or even 3-6 before that.

While I enjoyed Eisen's commentary, I think I could easily go the rest of my life without ever watching a YouTube broadcast again. It was insufferable.

Kurt wasn't much better, some bizarre takes from him. Like saying he thought the chargers should run the ball and give it back to Kansas at the 2 minute warning.

I paused it at half-time (the Chiefs rushed field goal was a thing of absolute beauty) and went to bed, assuming I could continue to watch to the end this morning. But it had switched to 'not available in your region' or something, as the rights apparently expire an hour after the game has concluded. So on that basis, yeah, Fcuk off Youtube.

I just watched it on gamepass because I didn’t think it would be on YouTube everywhere. Maybe it’s been answered but why weren’t the endzones both painted for the chargers ? It was their home game yet the chiefs had one end zone.

Badly edited in some spots on DAZN (ad-free replay). Cut out Chiefs' last 3rd down and field goal altogether. Went from incomplete pass on 2nd down straight to kickoff after the field goal.

Steelers and Jets has been a cracker of a game

it’s week one but should we worry about the Miami dolphins ?

No better sight in football than seeing Mike McDaniel schooled in a game.

    For the shoe.

He was a complete pain in the hole on Hard Knocks a few years ago. He's a spoofer Bill.

Wow, what a game. Great way to start the season. Ravens looked the better team for 55 minutes. Crazy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,288 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

    That was tremendous fun

That was a fantastic game last night. For the life of me I don't know how the Ravens lost it.

The Browns blew it against the Bengals. I think that was the first opening weekend win for the Bengals in six years.

My Patriots were shocking, horrendous performance. Lots of work on to make us an average team.

I'm really looking forward to tonight's game. I think the Bears are going to surprise a lot of people this season.

An incredible game last night. So harsh on Henry, he was sensational.

Browns doing brown things, cut their kicker Hopkins in off season, new kicker proceeds to miss a EP and 36 yarder for them to loss, a few very dodgy kickers around yesterday, 49ers could be giving a P45 to Moody as well.

That 2nd half would definitely worry you as Patriots fan, Raiders adjusted at half time and essentially shut ye down in 2nd half.

Outside the steelers jets and bills raven shootouts every other game went under their total, maybe with so many new QB's on teams and lack of preseason to be expected defences would be on top early doors. Think Flores and Vikings will throw the kitchen sink at Williams tonight, be interesting to see if Ben Johnson can work around it, Lions looked lost offensively yesterday without him calling the plays.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 42,053 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Yeah, the Lions lacked the potency we seen from them the past two years.

I really believe the Bears are serious contenders for their division title this year. They retooled the offensive line, and with the receiving corp they have, Williams doesn't need that long in the pocket. He got no time last year but should get some this season.

I'm expecting a huge game for Swift tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,288 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

    Nah. Same ole bears.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 42,053 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Bears looked great in the first half, Williams was excellent. Dire in the second half and it really came down to Williams. He was responsible more than anyone else for the loss

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,288 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

Well, I think the defense have to take a lot of blame too, they were suddenly completely unable to stop the run and got badly humiliated on two consecutive drives (looked very like last year actually). Could also blame the refs for some truly shocking calls including a ludicrous holding call and PI that both had a massive impact. But yeah by any measure Williams looked awful in the second half, and the o line had the same problems as last year. You didn't want to read too much into week 1, but everything about it was awfully familiar.

Jake Moody has been waived by the 49ers.

Packers only up 7-0 but their defense looks incredible again.

I think it'll be an easy win by the end of the game. Commanders defense spending a lot of time on the field and you'd expect they'll get fired at the end of this second quarter and late in the game as well.
