They'd just dismiss it as a deep fake from the deep state.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

Mmmmm. Somebody smart once said that you can't reason someone out of a position that they didn't reason themselves into in the first place.

I think that sums up MAGA supporters succinctly.

Q: On Epstein, would the White House support a professional handwriting expert review of the document released yesterday to prove it's not the president's signature?

LEAVITT: Sure, we would support that. In fact, I've already seen many forensic analysts who said this absolutely was not the president's authentic signature

Trumps blonde mouthpiece looked very shaken answering questions about the paedophile Epstein and Trump.

Probably not the career path she expected to be on.

God I hope he has to pay back all the money he’s collected through tariffs. That would hit him hard. 🤞🤞

I saw a video clip of a MAGA supporter saying she would rather a rapist and someone who has abused children been president of America instead of a Democrat being president.

The blonde Barbie mentions many forensic analysts, who would they be? As I have not seen any of them mentioned in the media unless she is counting MAGA politicians who are claiming its not Trump's handwriting.

He didn't give a **** about Ukrainian kids when he tried to blackmail Zelensky to try and get himself reelected.

He didn't give a **** about Ukrainian kids when he sided with Putin as the war rumbled on.

He doesn't give a **** about Ukrainian kids in the US either.

On the basis of what's known so far, from information flowing from the Trump Administration and its departments, from the Netanyahu administration and from the Qatari Administration over the bombing of the Hamas Negotiation team in Qatar, the timeline seems to be that the Israeli DF informed the U.S military of its planned operation, the U.S military informed its superiors, and the Qatari Administration was then informed by the Trump administration of the planned Israeli operation.

The however is in the Qatari claim that they received the information from the U.S several minutes after the Israeli operation went into play. That leads to a reasonable supposition that Netanyahu may have played Trump again in so far that Trump, as of yesterday, was publicly pushing for the Hamas negotiating team to agree to the peace deal terms he said the Israelis had agreed to. It would suit Netanyahu to have Hamas hurt even if it was on neutral ground in Qatar, one of Trump's friend's in his push for Middle East peace. Netanyahu is first and foremost Israeli and not a U.S citizen and his homeland's continuance is more important to him than having Trump in the Oval Office. Israel is not a Republican state beholden to Trump. Boom goes another of Trump's efforts to end wars.

Trump's supporters were all warned. But now they are dragging down the country and most of the planet.

The stories about US businesses suffering because of tariffs on raw materials. This isn't a rising tide lifting all boats, it's commerce being stifled and it's hard to see who benefits apart from those who can see in advance what the next random executive order is.,

This video is absolutely sickening and shocking. Some people seem more upset by the fact that the video went viral and that people are outraged over it though, rather than the fact that a 14 times arrested and dangerous criminal was released once again and allowed to commit this horrible murder

There are an average of 50 homicides in the U.S. every day. Do you want people to be outraged by all of them or just the ones that Trump, in his usual crass manner, highlights hoping to get people to vote for another of his lapdogs?

The question you should be asking is why Trump is not outraged over his good friends Putin and Netanyahu murdering men woman and children in Ukraine and Isreal rather than aiding and abetting both.

He's described as a "repeat offender", but I can only find reports of one previous conviction, and that was more than a decade ago. He has been arrested multiple times since then, but an arrest is not a charge, much less a conviction.

He has serial mental health problems, has been diagnosed withs schizophrenia and suffers from paranoid delusions. On at least one occasion he has reported himself to police, but they have declined to intervene on the basis that "the issue was a medical issue and that there was nothing further they could do". He has been the subject of an involuntary commitment order (obtained by his own mother) which doesn't seem to have been enforced.

It's fairly clear that the fundamental problem here is not a lack of law enforcement; it's a lack of medical treatment. Trump himself seems to understand this when he describes the man as a "deranged lunatic". It tells you all you need to know about Trumpis that he thinks the only proper public response to serious illness is more aggressive law enforcement.

A woman on CNN said that he should be put away for life.

When questioned "what for?" she answered "schizophrenia" and spent the next 5 minutes wriggling on that hook.

Yes, he needs medical treatment and shouldn't have been released without bail, he should have been transferred to a secure medical facility for treatment. That's a failure of the justice system.

If (as I suspect) the reason he wasn't transferred to a secure hospital place is either (a) no place was available, or (b) a place was available, but there was no funding to pay for him to occupy it, that's not a failure of the justice system; that's a failure of the healthcare system.

Now now. Don't be bringing facts to the table! /S

Meanwhile, the President of Peace oversees Russia violate Polish airspace and Israel attacking Qatar.

"This wouldn't have happened under Biden" - am.i doing that right??

PS - the signature is real. Release the files.

Newsflash, most Americans care more about what's going on in their own cities than what's happening in wars thousands of miles away. A crime like this, caught in detail on camera is obviously going to make headlines, it already was before trump even said anything. I hardly think it would be any different in Ireland? If you've seen even a bit of that video and your take away is but what about Israel theres something seriously wrong with you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,584 ✭✭✭ronjo

I agree with this. There is no doubt they are using this murder for political gain but it doesnt make it any less brutal and horrifying.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 28,401 ✭✭✭✭Peregrinus

Newsflash, charlie14's point wasn't about what most Americans are or should be concerned with, but about what the US President is concerned with. Trump obviously doesn't care about this death but is happy to seek electoral advantage by exploiting it, attributing to the failings of the government of North Carolina. He's not responsible for the government of North Carolina; he is responsible for the federal government. And it's entirely legitimate to point out that Trump chooses to prioritise exploiting this death, for which he is not responsible, over doing anything at all to prevent the deaths for which his policies are responsible.

If there's anything that screams lack of class, it's people adorning themselves or their surroundings with gold, or "gold".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,525 ✭✭✭✭Tony EH

Agreed, and if anyone has ever been to a major city in the US (i.e. San Francisco) they'd quickly understand that there's a lot of people on the streets there that need to be in a healthcare facility and not roaming about. The trouble is Republicans shut down state facilities in the 80's and nowadays, all that's open to a lot of people with mental problems is homelessness and destitution because they cannot afford to pay for private healthcare and end up bankrupt, with nowhere to go.

There may be failures with law enforcement in the US, but they are exacerbated by the extreme and routine failures that America's health system engenders.

Given the fact there's an active right wing press in the US, I'm inclined to say that interest simply wasn't there until charges were pressed. It was reported locally, the attackers name was publicly known since the 23rd.

Trump, Hegseth and Vance went out to a public restaurant for dinner. People started protesting and chanting "Trump is the Hitler of our time! Free D.C! Free Palestine!" right in front of him
