So Netanyahu has clearly stated that he does not want peace by bombing the Hamas deputation negotiating a peace deal in Qatar. Some people will defend this even as it is called out by nearly every other country in the world except those clearly influenced by Zionist money.

    Beeb are reporting this:

A White House official has confirmed to the BBC that the Trump administration was "notified" about the Israeli strike on Doha before it took place.

so his Jewish wife is responsible, because she is Jewish and therefore supports the genocide in Gaza?

    Wow.

Looks like the same 2 fuelling tankers were up in the air this afternoon were the same as when Iran got attacked. They both later landed back in Qatar after the attack. Probably nothing.

    latest from the Beeb:

Reports from Doha spoke of as many as eight separate explosions, with plumes of smoke rising above the city.

Within minutes, Israel took responsibility; the military saying this was a precise strike targeting the senior leadership of Hamas.

Israel initiated it, conducted it and takes full responsibility, the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted on social media. He called it a wholly independent Israeli operation, reacting perhaps to Israeli media reports that Washington may have been informed and have given a green light.

In Doha, the Qatari government reacted with fury, calling the attack reckless and cowardly, and a blatant violation of all international laws and norms. Similar statements of outrage came from across the Arab world.

The strike came just two days after the Trump administration announced its latest, somewhat sketchy proposals to end the war in Gaza.

It’s likely the Hamas leaders were meeting precisely to discuss them. With reports still coming in from the scene, it’s not known how many of them, if any, are still alive.

the RAF did not refuel Israeli strike aircraft, that’s a given.

Give over with your pearl clutching. Starmer is on record stating he supports zionism without qualification. He's a zionist supporter and that only means one thing

This is the crowd that just wants to live in peace with its neighbours remember…

it’s not pearl clutching at all. Claiming his wife is obviously pulling his strings because she is Jewish is blatantly anti semitic.

supporting the right of an Israeli state to exist and not supporting Israeli genocide in Gaza are not mutually exclusive.

Türkiye is quite friendly to Israel. It's unlikely they would allow Hamas over the border as Qatar have done. Same is true for Jordan and Egypt.

On the slim chance that they did, and Israel attacked as a result, Türkiye are NATO members and would likely call for assistance from the other 31 member states armies under article 5

But that's all speculation. If the Israelis were successful then the Hamas leadership is effectively dead.

Well, i supposed you've acknowledged that it is genocide. Guess who doesn't think it's genocide? The British government led by Kier Starmer

depends who you are I guess as to whether killing any of the negotiating team is a "success".

Hostage families will not see it that way - as already posted here by @Thelonious Monk

I’m not sure what your point is to be honest. Sounds like you’re just having a rant. What does that have to do with Starmers wife being Jewish?

it makes no difference if you call what’s happening genocide or not, it’s just words at the end of the day. I don’t think there is any question that the UK government has condemned Israeli actions and has spoken out very publicly, along with other nations, about their disgust with what is happening in Gaza.

How to win friends and influence people…

    Beeb:

Jordan has condemned "in the strongest terms", the Israeli strike in Qatar. Its foreign ministry describes it as "a dangerous and unacceptable provocative escalation".

In similar sentiment, Kuwait has expressed "strong condemnation and denunciation" of the strike, emphasising their "full support" for the measures taken by Qatar in retaliation.

Abdullah bin Zayed, deputy prime minster of the UAE, has also strongly condemned the attack.

The Sultan of Oman, in a statement from Oman's foreign ministry, has described the strike as "a blatant breach of sovereignty".

Is this the same UK government who used "anti-terror" legislation to arrest plenty of peaceful pro-Palestine protestors over the weekend?

They hide their condemnation very well.

The UK's 'strong condemnation' are for optics. They are talking out of both sides of their mouth, condemning what's happening in Gaza while facilitating it by selling weapons to Israel. Square that circle because i certainly can't.

And Starmer has a long history of supporting israel's actions in Palestine. Why is that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,139 ✭✭✭Randycove

they weren’t pro Palestine protestors though, were they. The actual Palestine solidarity march that took place between Russel Square and Whitehall passed off without any arrests. The people arrested were done so for supporting a proscribed terrorist organization. Whether or not they should have been proscribed is another matter, but what is important, is that they were not arrested for being pro Palestine.

they aren’t selling weapons to the IDF any more than Ireland is. This is all the Corbyn element of the UK left using the supply of components to arms factories in Israel (which are then exported to third countries or back to the UK) to further their agenda.

“I absolutely support the right of Israel to exist as a homeland,” Starmer told the British Jewish newspaper. He added, “I support Zionism without qualification.”

you see, this crosses a line and is why the far left have so many anti semetic accusations made against it.
let me make it very clear for you. Being Jewish does not make someone an automatic supporter of Israel. Plenty of Jewish people have spoken out about what is going on both inside and outside of Israel. Trying to make some absurd accusation that Starmers wife is supporting Israel and pulling his strings, simply because she is Jewish is akin to blaming all Muslims for 9/11.

Antisemitic me a***. That term has lost all its relevance because of the genocide. Anyway I suppose Eva Braun loved the Jewish population in Germany.

5 dead according to some reports, but Hamas are denying any leadership are among the dead- they have done this in the past. According to the Times of Israel 10 bombs were dropped by dozens of jets on the palace. If that's the case surely everyone that was in the building is dead. It would also indicate that Qatar allowed it to happen rather than risk a greater incident with the Americans if they tried to take out an Israeli jets.

yes, really. If you read the article and not the headline, you will see this

Since September 2024, 8,630 items were exported under the category “bombs, grenades, torpedoes, mines, missiles and similar munitions of war and parts thereof – other”.

the last bit is the important part, parts thereof- other. These are components being used to build systems and the end customer will be detailed. Systems like the tank defence systems Britain, Norway and Germany are buying to defend the next generation of MBTs they are building, or parts of the European sky shield that Israeli companies are playing a significant role in building. David Lammy made this very clear in his response to a written question in parliament.
