Trump might as well have asked Witkoff to do a liver transplant. Yes, he’s a successful businessman but expertise counts in this world. You can’t just walk into a completely different field and expect to be great at it immediately. And he doesn’t seem to care that his ignorance of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia is so easily exposed.

    Yea, about 471 more.

To your second question, I refer the honorable gentleman to the post I made on the matter a day or two ago.

CFTrump creating strange, uhh, bedfellows. NRA defending Trans rights (to own firearms). Apparently the WH is considering some restrictions on gun ownership. Good luck with that.

Video going around of farmers in Arkansas gathered in a hall praying to all mighty God to save them. They are closest to his earth so should be listened to. They are struggling as their markers collapse or they dont have the workers to harvest the crops. In response God has admitted help is on its way however might be 2027 maybe even 2028 before things turn good again as he is extremely busy trying to start a few wars as some idiot keeps putting them out. If they dont survive until then and have to sell their farms dont worry, god knows fabulous Investment company who recently made 5bln in Bitcoin He could convince them buy all the farms at knock down prices and offer jobs to the local MAGA farmers. What a great feeling it would be to see hoards of proud Americans farmers doing the work Mexicans once did.

Manic? Also, what are your thoughts on the US military dropping missiles on boats in international waters that may or may not have had drug smugglers?

At this stage the answer is predictable.

Regardless of how heinous or outrageous it is,

    1) he'll assume it's legal and that all protocols were adhered to

    2) if borderline, he will assume all the government/army acted in good faith, regardless of them not being entitled to such a presumption as a direct result of many many reasons

    3) if there is any evidence to the contrary, some lazy, historical example barely relevant will be brought up as precedent, in an attempt to show we are all over reacting

    4) when pushed, the best he can possibly muster is "I don't approve but...."

We are no longer marching towards fascism. We have broken into a trot.

I get the impression from the tone of certain posts that Manic thinks of himself as the adult in the room, and the rest of us are petulantly over reacting and now aware of how things work "in the real world".

In reality, I would compare him to a character who is a devout christian in a movie who was bitten by a vampire and puts cheap band aids over his cuts, tries to act normal and despite all the warning signs patently clear to the rest of us of the inevitability of where it will end up, stubbornly holds on to the conditioned belief that "everything will be okay, the Lord will save me". The Constitution isn't going to save the US. Those questioning or refusing to take orders from a fascist are.

Trump may be the first U.S president to brag that a U.S city is about to find out why the Department of War is so named.

To Chicago's citizens and visitors: congratulations, DJT posted on his Truth Social site that you are about to find out why. He's sending the uniformed military branches of the U.S Department of War to your doors and streets to teach you manners about civility and obedience.

    Ingenious by trump.

Rather than look for an external foe to wage war on, and thus cancel the 2028 elections as he'd be a "war time president"....

All he has to do is wage war on the US itself, negating the need to find a poxy proxy.

    Ingenious!!

Denigration and abuse of veterans isn't strictly illegal, and therefore it's fine.

Something about the Dutch navy offering drug boats the chance to surrender. So, the question stands.

I'd be waiting to see what ICE would do if the women of Chicago should get it into their heads that acts of civil disobedience were to be the order of the day and decide to blockade the Military Post ICE has been allowed use by D of W to prevent ICE coming and going to and from Chicago's streets on an anti-war protest basis.

Given that Chicago's mayor has instructed the city's police not to cooperate with ICE, the next step would be up to Trump and Hegseth. Would Trump be so stupid as to use the military against it's mums, sisters and wives?

Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-Oklahoma) blocks a bill (that already passed the House with 349 votes) that sanctions the Republic of Georgia over its rigged election , growing Russian influence (Chinese and Iranian influence there growing too) and growing repression.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune has now stopped the measures from the NDAA, which has to be passed annually to fund the military.

Under Senate rules, one Senator can put a "hold" on a bill, delaying debate on it unless and until the Senate voted to overturn a hold, which I think required a two thirds vote.

This is a turnaround from this Senator, who in 2020 criticised the regime for denying contracts to a Texas oil company, Frontera Resources. Recently Georgia granted a new contract to them.

Don't forget the part where the Dutch navy also engage rogue boats and try to immobilise them first and foremost and only return lethal fire when required to maintain their safety should they be fired upon.

Seemingly this is comparable to the US missile attack on what was probably a human trafficking run somehow.

Trump signs order to punish countries that unjustly detain US citizens

Rubio said the designation could lead to penalties including things like economic sanctions and restrictions to visas, foreign assistance and travel for US passport holders.

54 of those Americans are held abroad.

Democracy. They chose this. This is what they wanted for their country and they're getting it.

He has cut funding for the Baltic Security Initiative. This funding, according to a diplomat, has been "critical" to upgrading the Baltic states' defensive capabilities, especially HIMARS.

Also Pete Hegseth has sent Trump a report recommending focusing on the "Homeland" and Western Hemisphere as the first priority rather than countering Russia and China.

On Poland he says "we'll be putting more there if they want". I think Trump identifies more with the new Polish President Nawrocki, who he met in the Oval Office a few days ago. MAGA influencers were in Poland warning people not to vote for the Prime Minister's alliance in the Presidential election. Nawrocki was received with a larger honour guard than usual and an F35 flyover.

"Asked by a Polish journalist about whether he might authorize a reduction in troops in Poland, Trump assured Nawrocki that the U.S. would maintain its current troop presence.

“They’ll be staying in Poland,” Trump said. “We’re very much aligned with Poland.”

Trump praised Poland as a model ally for spending the highest percentage of its GDP of any NATO country on defense, even joking that “we’ll put more [troops] there if they want.”"

While he has an image as an isolationist, MAGA is trying to export its ideology to allies.

A.P Report. South Korea says it has reached a deal with the U.S. on the release of South Korean workers detained at a Hyundai plant in Georgia. Presidential chief of staff Kang Hoon-sik announced Sunday that South Korea and the U.S. finalized negotiations on the workers’ release and that some unspecified administrative steps are left to be taken.

He said South Korea plans to send a charter plane to bring the workers back home. South Korea’s Foreign Minister Cho Hyun said Saturday that more than 300 South Koreans were among the 475 people detained.
