The frightening thing is that a significant part of the US population think that these people are 'Making America Great Again'

Looking at the BATF raid on the Hyundai battery production plant, I see the CNN report on it covers it as a raid looking for, as ICE would not have done, undocumented workers and mentions that U.S union representatives supposedly expressed concerns that jobs had being taken from U.S workers by foreign workers there. If one was to look at the raid from that perspective, and mention the report that South Korea's ambassador in the U.S had expressed concern to the Trump administration about it's nationals arrested in the raid, one might expect that the foreign workers would at least have lost their jobs.

Not good for the U.S unemployment returns this month, one might expect, unless one got tricksy with the way the matter was handled. Declare that the jobs were not lost, merely reassigned to other workers in the U.S who happen to be U.S born workers looking for jobs in the region and coincidentally union members as well. The two countries could forget the incident occurred officially if S/Korea took it's undocumented citizens home, keeping production rolling uninterrupted at the Hyundai plant with the new U.S staff workers, cold hearted as it might seem.

But theres no way that Hyundai has employed hundreds of undocumented workers in their US plant.

We have seen ICE target legal workers and US citizens.

This looks like intimidation tactics for all legal work permit holders to leave the US.

    It's daaaark

According to this article, the vaccination rate in Ireland amongst children is now below herd immunity level

"The HSE said the declining vaccine update in Ireland is falling short of the 95% coverage required to achieve herd immunity against key early childhood diseases.

Ireland's vaccination rate for nearly all vaccines administered to children was in the 80% range."

So just as bad, if not worse than Florida, which stands at 88.7% of kids vaccinated, but people on here are up in arms about de santis proposing to end mandates, while not campaigning for ireland to introduce them? I guarantee that not one child has ever been denied a school place due to their vaccination status, the parents just get exemptions or go to private school so the mandates are pretty pointless anyway.

People were also ranting and doomsaying about covid vaccine recommendations in the US being brought in line with those in Europe, including Ireland. Its pure selective outrage egged on by hysterical media stories.

So they executed 3 north Korean lads who were collecting shellfish , in North Korea. How is this different to the Russians executing British citizens in Britain...…I'm really getting a case of "wait, are we the baddies?"

Like objectively, countries like Iran and North Korea, if you ignore moral judgment on how they run their own society and you respect their sovereignty, they have been threatened , attacked and harassed for decades and have only attempted to defend themselves with various strategies including the development of the same nuclear weapons that their aggressor already has.

How would the Americans react if north Korean agent executed some fishermen on the beach in New York for example? They would be apoplectic

You don't put all your eggs in one basket. Sure you get the multinationals in but you need to encourage more indigenous industry too. They've failed to do that and we're extremely exposed when they downsize/leave. And many of them will.

Nothing thrives in a monoculture. It takes very little to see the entire thing decimated.

Ireland will run public information campaigns to get the numbers back up again, but you're right, we have seen stupid anti-vaxxers cause measles outbreaks in the country.

Are you against vaccine mandates for kids? Why? Would information campaigns be enough to halt the decline in vaccination rates in the US? They're heading back to a time when lots more kids die or have lifetime effects purely down to their stupidity and the stupidity of people like RFK.

Any responsible family would give Disney in Florida a skip until this is sorted.

They (The IDA) have encouraged Irish companies, so much so that Irish companies employee over 1.5 million people worldwide. I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'Indigenous Industry' though.

Why will the multinationals leave though? Are you talking about their brass plates or physical presence?
You don't put all your eggs in one basket is a valid phrase (if you're talking about corporate tax) another phrase is make hay while the sun shines. The corporate tax income recently has been unprecedented recently, you hardly expect 'they' should say 'we're taking too much in, it's **** up the indigenous ratio, we can't tax you anymore'. It's a windfall, once it's treated like that, we'll be ok.

It's genuinely astonishing to think that these type of people are running the most powerful country in the world.

WSJ says RFK Jr.'s Dept of Health and Human Services has released a report linking autism to the drug Tylenol in pregnancy, and also saying a lack of folates involved.

Given his unorthodox views on medicine, and his recent firings of CDC boss Monarez, is there a danger that HHS reports will not he trusted as much?

RFK Jr had a very tough Senate Oversight Committee hearing this week. Democrats criticised his vaccine-scepticism but there was also some criticism from Republican Senators, who are reportedly saying privately to Trump that RFK Jr is skating on thin ice.

Undercover conservative reporter James O'Keefe, who is certainly no friend of the Democratic party, has reportedly uncovered a plan to redact Republicans from the Epstein list, while keeping Democrats on it. In the video, the acting deputy chief at the Office of Enforcement Operations, Joseph Schnitt, also says Maxwell was moved to the lower prison in return for her "keeping her mouth shut".

DOJ admitting the video is real, but says the official on the tape has no role in the Epstein case.

The video is at this link.

Yahoo News confirming the story here.

Several studies have linked paracetamol use in pregnancy to autism. Its something I read about years ago and not some made up thing by rfk Jr. For example:

Reports that at the "Coalition of the Willing" meeting with Zelensky, Trump didnt turn up even on video call as he previously said he would. He sent Witkoff instead. Then Zelensky had to phone Trump afterwards.

Also Reports Trump shouted at the European leaders for buying oil from Russia, and said "America is out". While I don't think we should buy oil from Russia, it's only Hungary and Slovakia I think that do so directly. There are some concerns about some of the 1% of Europe imports from India possibly coming from Russia though.

Paradoxically , Trump previously expressed sympathy for Hungarian PM Viktor Orban when the latter complained about Ukraine bombing the Druzhba pipeline through which Hungary gets Russian oil.

Trump recently imposed 50% tariffs on India to pressure them to stop buying oil from Russia. I sortof agree with that but China is a much bigger culprit in this.

I just can’t fathom Witkoff’s statements about the war. Here’s a brilliant guy, an incredibly successful businessman whose family hailed from the Russian empire, and yet he does not remember the names of the Ukrainian oblasts the war is taking place in. He sounds like an auctioneer when he speaks about the conflict. But then his boss does too. Maybe he can run HHS after Kennedy? Who needs expertise any more? It’s overrated.

I would be surprised if that wasn’t the case.

Well in the Russian Empire, before the USSR, they would have been "Governates" rather than Oblasts.

Do you think that in the US local public health districts dont run campaigns and give out free vaccines? They do. Engaging with communities who might be hesitant to vaccinate is far more effective than mandates, which are easily bypassed anyway. Its why they aren't really recommended unless in the most extreme circumstances, and why they aren't in a thing in most of Europe, maybe all, I'm not sure tbh. I dont agree or disagree with them, my child has received all the required vaccines and I provide the school with the records as requested but if I didn't she could still go to school anyway so its a bit pointless.

If you are up in arms about Florida potentially dropping mandates then you better start campaigning for ireland to introduce them, since the vaccination rate is pretty much on a par with Florida these days and below herd immunity levels.

I'll have to delve further into this raid when more info becomes available to see if the arrested workers were freed after documents were checked and findings revealed. Initial reports mention it was a long planned raid, whatever that means. I was surprised by the I/D of the agency (BATF) named as coordinator.

If one follows the logic of Trump on the War-winning ability of the U.S (we won the wars we won because we had a Department of War and lost the wars we lost after we changed it's name to Department of Defence) there must be a lot of similarly named Depts around the world as not everyone is a war winner.

So what happens if the name change does not force Russia to retreat from its invasion of Ukraine to satisfy Trump's wish that that war ends? Will he say "I got it wrong again Dad" and go for another name change? Does Russia have a Dept of War, Don?

he debases ALL HIS opposition with derogatory name tags eg sleepy Joe, crooked Hillary ( mild by comparison to other terms he uses. The tag he has for Mundami re the mayoral candidate for mayor of NY is he is a COMMUNIST and ‘ I do’nt like working with a communist ‘. - unless he is a communist like my friend Putin!

The conclusion is pretty much correlation rather than causation. Paracetamol use during pregnancy and having neurodiverse children. You could equally conclude that the increased need for aspirin was illness/fever which could be the causative factor. In fact, fever during pregnancy is a recognized issue in terms of neurodevelopmental issues. Now, if RFK claims autism is also caused by vaccines will you be backing that too?

"Our analysis demonstrated evidence consistent with an association between exposure to acetaminophen during pregnancy and offspring with NDDs, including ASD and ADHD, though observational limitations preclude definitive causation. "
