Murph’s desperate efforts to try to demonstrate he knew some Philip Roth novels was pretty cringey

Has anyone watched that Dallas Cowboys documentary they were on about today? I've no interest in NFL but sounds quite interesting

brooks koepka playing in Irish open because his caddy is Irish…….hilarious reach

I watched the first episode. I found it entertaining. I tend to find shows about the NFL a lot more interesting than watching the games. Usually lots of colourful characters.

Granted I like the NFL but it is a very good documentary. There are some crazy stories in it. It's definitely not as good as the last dance in my opinion.

Read Jeff Pearlman's book on the Cowboys team, mad bastards.

McDevitt didn't make the connection between Ecstasy of Gold and Metallica, should be forced to forfeit his tickets.

Ken is right, we’re specialists in failure at this point and even if we get to the threshold of a big result we’ll fit a way to shít the bed.

Would be happy to be wrong but even a draw is a point more than I expect on Saturday. Hungry will be out for revenge after we basically grounded their Euros before it had even started.

No matter what way you try and spin it our first eleven is dreadfully poor, especially in midfield. Just hard to be optimistic.

I like Sneyd but it’s had not to laugh at McCarthy’s Braveheart shïte and his reaction to it now we have the quotes. Stay frosty lad, it’s your job to look at this stuff with at least a bit of detachment.

We’ve beaten Bulgaria to avoid relegation and we beat Finland before that. Those are literally the high water marks under this manager and indeed under the last two managers. Beating Hungry at home in what is basically a play-in for a play-off spot if McCarthy is to be believed would be so far and away our best and most meaningful result since 2016.

Did the lads actually run a podcast the day of a Michael Conlan fight in their own hometown about an entirely different fight or are they engaging in some sort of elaborate trolling exercise?

Oh the irony of you accusing them of trolling…

Well the optimism was nice while it lasted.

Well, I can drown my sorrows in knowing at least I was extremely correct

Sneyd won’t live this one down anytime soon

Eoin and his god damn optimism.

    Over before it even started

We're all part of Heimar's army!

Hard to make sense of that match but given it it’s going to go down to the final 90 minutes of the campaign on all known logic it’s time for me to take one for the team and book a flight to Budapest for November

Ken was as brilliant in the first 15 minutes yesterday as the first 15 minutes were awful Saturday night.

I don't understand how Delaney can criticise Stephen Kenny so much and then the same things happen under Heimir and he has zero issues with him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,275 ✭✭✭Did you smash it

same issues? We’ve beaten Bulgaria and Finland twice while we lost to Finland twice and drew with Bulgaria twice under Kenny.

we lost to Armenia away under Kenny. If we win tonight as we should it’s another one.

Kenny lost both opening games of the two qualifying campaigns he presided over thereby eliminating us at the earliest possible juncture from two tournaments. A notable feat.

If we lost to Armenia tonight then he goes someway to closing the gap between him and Kenny but right now hes levels ahead.

I'd say there'll be some bitter 'told-you-so-ing' about Collins in the next football pod…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 630 ✭✭✭Tucker.Tim

Might give Hungary a miss actually

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,171 ✭✭✭kksaints

So Heimar has closed the gap a lot then this evening.

That was worse than any performance (bad and all as some were) under Kenny

Ken’s Eamon Dunphy impression on the post Hungary pod was top class. Gold.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,275 ✭✭✭Did you smash it

aye, didn’t age well, but it could be said your comment was rotten when you posted it. Kenny had lost to teams Heimar had won against. It was fair comment at 3pm today but by now yeah hasnt aged well I concede.

Let's see Mr bitter himself Damien Delaney put a shine on this performance. Imagine just imagine Kenny was the manager...….

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,275 ✭✭✭Did you smash it

we don’t have to imagine. Kenny lost to Armenia
