And so we come to the final regular weekend of season, with Captains Day in Woodenbridge and Arklow.

    image.png image.png

I've played both courses, and both are really nice. Woodenbridge starts really tight, and you'll likely hear quite a few "fores" before it opens up a bit after the 5th hole. Arklow we played a few years back, but they had been doing some work and we missed out on the last few holes, so looking forward to playing it again properly.

    • Time sheet for both will open on Wednesday at 7pm
    • Tee Times: Woodenbridge - 2:10pm | Arklow - 1:30pm
    • Cost: Woodenbridge - €55pp | Arklow - €55pp
    • Slots available: Woodenbridge - 32 | Arklow - 40

For Captains Day (Arklow), pick any spot on the time sheet as we will be rejigging it to put the top 10 or so people out together in the last groups. Make it more interesting on the day. You'll also be able to top up in €5 increments now, to allow you to put in just the right amount into your purse.

Finally, we will be using Live Scoring, so i'll need one volunteer from each group on the day to enter their scores after every hole. It's a great feature, and lets everyone keep up to speed on where things stand. Thanks as always to Golfgraffix for hosting everything on Clubnet. This would be a freaking nightmare without his system, and it makes everything so much easier for us.

And before anyone asks, yes i have confirmed the time/date/courses 🤣

Thanks Kiith, looking forward to it.

Per Kiiths point around the top-ups. Please target getting as close to the exact amount in as your balance to leave the smallest possible account balances after the last event. It just keeps the maintenance of the clubs purse as clean as possible.

Thanks @Kiith. really looking forward to this. Enjoyed Arklow the last time we played. The Par 3's stand out in my memory.

Just on the ePurse top-up, I assume we also need to factor in for the 2s?

I'm waiting on a first passport for my last born before booking a holiday. If it doesn't arrive in time, I'll try to sneak down for the Friday. Woodenbridge is a really fun course to play. Very playable, but plenty challenging. And gorgeous in that valley.

Just topped up the last few quid and will book Arklow. Heading up and down on the day but looking forward to seeing out the season and playing another super course.

I'm booking Woodenbridge first on Wednesday, barring a successful sale of a spleen, I'll have to book Arklow on Friday.

    Apologies

are we going to have any visitor places for Saturday in Arklow? My bro & his missus would be interested if there’s space. No worries if not.

Lets hope for the first outcome here as opposed to the second:

Visitors are fine. We've a good few free slots, so even if a few extra members can make it, we'll still have slots. Visitors rate is €60 and they won't be able to win any prizes though, hope that's OK.

I called Woodenbridge there and we are in fact playing there on Friday, and our tee time is 2:10pm. Just to be safe 🤣

Also would appreciate if there was something posted on pace of play.

I know a fun day out ..but just basics ?

jaysus how long do you expect rounds to last? 🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,499 ✭✭✭✭Seve OB

    it’s Tuesday!

When you wake up Friday morning and look out the window, you can at that stage worry about what to wear.

    pointless discussion till then 🤣

It'll be tight, the last group goes out on Friday with only 4 hours left until sunset, so no room for any slow play.
