Both of the contestants said they didn't tell the other they were going in. It's just not believable.

As you said, they could have a signal system worked out.

I'm not sure how exactly it would be revealed in the programme that they're related. It's not like someone would be able to work it out.

The basis of any competition should be that you are on a level playing field. This is not the case.

"I'm not sure how exactly it would be revealed in the programme that they're related. It's not like someone would be able to work it out."

A slip of the tongue, being overly familiar with each other, being overly defensive of the other. People in the game, considering you don't know anything about the other players (unless there is some relationship there obviously), have to be incredibly attuned to try and pick up on any type of lie or misspoken word. When you have nothing to go on, the slightest inkling becomes a massive thing.

If I was in there I would definitely be thinking about possible relationships between players, as it's just standard in the game at this point (particularly the UK game as it's happened in every series). Series 2 in the UK there was a mother and son. Some of the people were guessing that Paul was Diane's son. Right idea, just the wrong man. Likewise I'd be questioning what people say their job is and if I think they might be lying about that. You have to question absolutely everything, because you know nothing about these people. Everyone could be lying about everything all the time.

Nobody in the three UK series who had an existing relationship going in have made it close to the final, even where nobody figured out about the relationship. The closest any of them got was the final 8. It's not as much of an advantage as you think it is, and again, in most cases has been a bigger disadvantage because it puts targets on your backs from both the Faithfuls and the Traitors if it's discovered.

If I was going into the game, I wouldn't want someone else I knew in there with me.

Especially considering a) you don't always add all the available money to the prize pot, so by the end it could be less than 40k, and b) there's a good chance you'll be splitting it with at least one other person. The lowest number of people who can win is either 1 Traitor or 2 Faithfuls.

I'd say with the costs of filming on location, Slane Castle for a few weeks etc, that probably took a big chunk out of the money available for the prize pot.

The English version notorious for misspelled names at the roundtable.

Can see it happening here as well 😂

I think the father looks very sly.

I know it's easy to say at home in front of the TV.

Why can't just one Faithful win but yet one Traitor can?

The game automatically ends when there are two people left, as they can't vote each other out. If they're both Faithful, they share the prize. If they're both Traitors, they share the prize.

If one is a Faithful and one is a Traitor, the Traitor wins and takes the lot, because the Traitor survived to the end without being caught. So one Traitor can win the lot, but only a minimum of two Faithfuls can win.

The after show is repeat at Nine O'Clock on RTE2 tonight.

Have last nights on RTE player again now.

The show clashes with the below which I have set to record, four episode series with Sheridan Smith in it! Started on ITV last night haven't checked when the rest of the episodes play.

Just to add to the above, the game can end with more than two people; once there are four people left, they have to decide whether they end the game, or vote someone else out. If they vote someone out and there are three people left, they again vote whether to end the game or vote someone else out. Whenever they vote to end the game, if there are any Traitors left, the Traitors win. But the game must automatically end when there are two people left regardless.

That’s pretty much how to get into the spirit of the game - commenting on the players will be rife very soon 😀

We saw last year in the UK version how coming back into the game creates suspicion - it’s not guaranteed but it’s more likely than not that they will be gone quickly - if you feel your chosen 2-3 people are all faithfuls, you’ll stick by that regardless - hence the outsiders get dispatched

Watched it / loved it !!!

    What’s the format ?

Is it only 3 episodes with these players and then a new gang next week ?

Traitors unplugged good fun also - funny though I clicked record but it didn’t record last night - watching it on replay now -I’m impressed even though I hardly know any of the contributors 😀

I have consumed too much traitors between all the different countries that there was nothing new for me. I can already see some of the twists they have coming, and recycling the same challenges. I’ll still watch though as there are some interesting personalities there

Well, Death in Paradise, has the exact same formula each episode. Four suspects. each one with an alibi. Still, pulls a big audience.

Yeah they’re not a bad bunch so far- no doubt there will be an annoying one or two and one or two well all end up rooting for - that’s standard also I guess

Funny it says "Station 19" on at that time on Virgin 1 for me.

Just Reading what it says now maybe it's the same thing.

Seems to me, having never watched this show that the best tactic to go far is to be dumb enough that the traitors don't see you as being a threat to being discovered.

Never be the one to identify a traitor because then you have a target on your back.

Like Niall has figured out that Eamon is probably one. But obviously the faithfuls will know Eamon is a traitor if Niall gets booted out first, so leave Niall in for a few rounds and then get rid.

Looking forward to the episode tonight again. Not looking forward to hearing the blonde one jumping and screeching and hugging people for no reason.

RTE is in debt to their hole, 50 k is probably as much as Backhurst would agree to.
