If it pans out to top summer 23/24 when we replaced our midfield with Szobo, Macca, Grav and Endo, then we will be filling the trophy cabinet for the next few years.

I don't think I've been this excited about a window since my hot neighbour got rid of the net curtains in her bedroom.

The shiny Bellingham was what we were expecting at the time, thankfully the club could see the bigger picture.

Reece Williams boot up your going to Palace.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,690 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Igor may well have plumped for West Ham.

Palace are rightly taking care of themselves, so whether that impacts Guehi we'll see. At least the medical will be out of the way

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,540 ✭✭✭✭rob316

Feck, that's the one I really wanted. Gomez to the rescue?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,690 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Some say Igor backed out because Palace have others in mind

Some say Guehi deal is done

    Some say it's not

Money says it's not impacting our deal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,415 ✭✭✭jasonb

According to Sky, Guehi hasn't been called back and is still doing medical, while Palace look for alternatives to Julio…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,617 ✭✭✭✭Cartman78

Fella on SSN just confirmed that the Igor deal falling through does not affect the Guehi move

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,690 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

I wonder what time we thinking for the Isak media show from our side.

    9pm ?

Get that photoshoot uploaded, get some lean pics with Guehi photoshopped in etc

I'd say that tells you everything about the level of regard Guehi is held in at Palace.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,231 ✭✭✭Talisman

James Pearce is saying Brighton are now in for Gomez.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,540 ✭✭✭✭rob316

Ornstein saying player discussing glasner. Obviously trying to get him to stay but parish not stopping it. He'll walk if this goes through

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,690 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Palace would be better advised to keep hold and miss out on that 35m TBH if they have no replacement options. It's a long season that could turn bad in a few weeks - they are guaranteed that Guehi will keep performing if they keep hold after all

Glasner meltdown could easily happen and they could end up losing him come the summer after all this - probably be a job at ManU going after all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,901 ✭✭✭McFly85

As crap as it is I can understand if he stays if they have no cover lined up, we would want the same thing.

Up to the player now though as it sounds like the move is still on but Glasner is looking to convince the player to stay

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 13,979 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

He seems like the sort of character that would stay too, and we'd have to respect that

    Hopefully I'm wrong though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,540 ✭✭✭✭rob316

Absolutely, if they can take the loss they should keep him, far too important.

Feeling it'll collapse but not long to go atleast to find out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,690 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

SSN talking heads know nothing - you have no sources chief, you're literally parroting what you see on your ipad. Everything is 'potenitally' happen, with enough wiggle to report out the complete opposite possibility. Sure we can all see the same thing.

Frankly it makes sense for them to keep hold if they cannot sort something out. That is real and factual. It's a major risk for them to let him go, they are literally only getting a 19yr old kid in and need someone else.

35m won't mean much if you find yourself struggling come end of season. Plus a manager/chairman breakdown. January could still happen anyway, but not for 35m.

We'll still have Gomez, and the Italian lad to grow (if that's even possible)

Let's just see what happens next hour

Yep, I could see him staying for the the sake of the club, but they are basically asking him to stay to cover the club's ineptitude in the transfer market! It's not like they didn't know they needed replacements. I don't understand how the Igor deal fell through due to him being concerned about game time if they are this desperate for CBs.

Anyhow, if it doesn't happen I'll be disappointed, but at least we know that the last time signing a CB fell through and we had to wait til January, it worked out pretty well! 😊
