Gomez was like a **** superhero when he came on.

Absolutely no way should we be letting him go.

Been waiting to see that FK from Szobo since he joined us, it was worth the wait!

Great to see Kerkez grow into the game. He was starting to look like Moreno 2.0 after the first 2 games when he was flying into tackles. The 2nd half of today's game showed a lot more composure and confidence. I have full faith that he'll he a great asset to the team.

I love him. Shame his injury record is so bad, but he’s always great for us at CB and at RB

Amazing win. First solid performance and 3 wins from 3. All that matters 9 points perfect start.

Two main concerns Wirtz very bad today although slightly improved second half. If he cost 40 million I’d be unimpressed. Secondly and more importantly Salah has been dire for 4 games. He’ll have to get some way back to last seasons form to retain the league.

Back to a positive note, the free kick. As good as you’ll see.

Arsenal had the best of the first half. But once some football broke out, only one team in it.

Talk of Kerkez being a weak link too - Madueke never got passed him and Kerkez blocked every cross from him.

Funny how Liverpool take half the amount of time on a corner when actually time wasting than Arsenal do when chasing a goal 😆

I was joking about the "quality " of the game,9/9, dare I say it , but our name is on the trophy already for this season.

Thought Wirtz was a bit better in that second half. Was getting higher up the pitch and had a couple shots blocked that were on target.

Kerkez showing his good stuff today

    Robbo would have been murdered

    Captain was immense

And what a player Slozo is.

Early days..but on last seasons we are up 4 points on those last two games.

    Need VVD to stay fit.

Maybe he’s not playing out of position!

Joe was immense when he came on. Delighted for him

I had a strong feeling Gykoeres was the ideal opponent to get Konate back on track, but didnt want to jinx it! Good to see Kerkez do reasonably well on by far their most dangerous player, that should be a settler for him.

    He was excellent today.

I thought Wirtz was really good too. If they add Isak to the mix, then we'd be very difficult to stop.

Stoke can always be a tricky tie, good to get the 3 points

Btw, Vigril van Dijk, what a player

We can still get better. Arsenal are a very good team, let us not forget this. They are a lot of people's favourites for a reason, but if they keep playing with such caution it will cost them. They are so difficult to open up, but that is because they are so cautious and organised. If they decide to open up they could be much more dangerous, but it will open them up to attacks.

I see a lot of Mourinho in this Arsenal team, tough to break down and very good at what they do, but not very fun to watch. You wonder how much more their supporters will put up with. I still remember them shouting "hoof" every time a defending team cleared the ball against them, how times have changed in that that is seemingly all they are doing at the moment.

Not sure about Wirtz being really good. Too many sloppy passes in the first half and I widh he played 20 yards further up the pitch - that's where we can see the best of him I think.

John Aldridge said on LFC commentary that's the best free kick he's ever seen at Anfield.

I remember Barnes scoring a beaut (also against Arsenal) in the late 80's but that was a helluva hit from Szobo today.

    Great start to the season

Dominik Szoboszlai with a virtuoso performance today. The man has been coolness personified.

Kerkez, much improved and will be happy with a steady performance.

Wirtz, still lightweight, but grew into the game. Anyone saying he was shyte is just being contrarian. Plenty of room to improve though. Let's remember how long it took Robertson and Fabinho to settle.

Winning them ugly ones are how championships are won.

I've no worries about him. Will take some time to adjust - which he's readily admitted - but eventually his brilliance will shine through.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,225 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Dom may be cursing himself for playing this role too well, he'll never get back into midfield

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,565 ✭✭✭The Rooster

We werent good in the first half, but defended well and Arsenal didnt push too hard, so good to get in at 0-0.

We were the better team in the second half, the only team who threatened to win it. Need a cracker to do it, but we were the ones pushing up to that point

yup… have to say he worried me the first few games….. he was very good today…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,204 ✭✭✭Enzokk

I see the xG on BBC was 0.45 for us and 0.55 for Arsenal, wonder if Arteta will mention this as an excuse again, they won the xG battle. And they had more corners, that should be worth another 0.5 points.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,046 ✭✭✭cheese sandwich

I agree Mo has been rubbish so far but I have faith that he will come good. We’ve seen him have dips in form before and he’s always turned it around.

Also he may be struggling to get over Jota’s death. We saw how upset he was after the Bournemouth game.

Our 3 CB's were immense today. Van Dijk, Konate and Gomez when he came on.
