To be fair Bayindir had to start really. Onana couldn't come back in after Grimsby and you couldn't really switch to Heaton at this late stage.

JJ Gabriel scoring a 30 min hattrick for the U18s at just 14 years old. Looks an incredible talent.

Team to play Burnley: Bayindir, Yoro, De Ligt, Shaw, Dalot, Fernandes, Casemiro, Amad, Mbuemo, Cunha, Mount

onana, dorgu, heaven, maguire, maz, mainoo, ugarte, sesko, zirkzee

    odd.

It's going to be a very interesting team selection for today. Might be a few surprises I think.

    Sesko on the bench again.

You'd want to be seeing him starting if we want him to start scoring.

I think a draw would be a fabulous result today considering what we're coming off the back of against a motivated Burnley.

Manchester United should be beating Burnley at home but this isn't Manchester United, not even close.

I would bemoan having to watch another game with no striker, but Wednesday wasn't exactly pleasant viewing either.

Could be Shaw LWB and Dalot at CB. I don’t mind the team. The majority of the team v Arsenal. I didn’t expect much different.

Don’t give yourself hope brother, it’ll be Dalot stinking it up on the left!

Dalot getting picked again despite being dogshįț with a midfield pairing that has never worked is RA just making rods for his own back.

Also, wtf did we buy Sesko? Is he just for cup competitions? We're into our 3rd league game and he still isn't starting and neither is Zirkzee

Only real surprise is dorgu dropped but it's not the end of the world. He has played the most of the 3 games so far. Amad probably lucky to survive over the weekend match but hopefully he has a great game today and works hard at a minimum

with sesko i'd say he has decision paralysis cos he is so terrified of it going wrong. end times as far as i'm concerned.

Dalot ahead of Dorgu is a baffling choice. Dorgu while he hasn’t been great has been steady and playing in his natural position.
Dalot has been woeful and is the epitome of the lack of concentration that costs the team goals.

No striker again is very very disappointing. I’d be playing Sesko from the start of games to get him used to the league, not bringing him on when our game is invariably falling apart. I mean what’s the point in paying big money for a striker and not starting him? Sure Arsenal signed one who went on strike all pre season and have started him since the first kick of the season.

Right call with the keeper though. The lesser of two evils.

I’d be surprised if Amorim is still in charge for the next game after the break. I think he’s made his mind up to walk already. The words mid week were too strong and repeated in three different interviews. One interview could be put down to frustration straight after the game but repeating it on three occasions doesn’t seem like an off the cuff remark in the heat of the moment like it’s being spun

Even taking that on face value he threw the whole team under the bus publicly and repeatedly which in itself is very damning, not taking any responsibility himself

Anyway whatever happens let’s hope for a win today Its is hope rather than expectation for me given Amorims track record

Have to be worried about him, can't get into a team that cannot score goals.

Not surprised Sesko is on the bench. Little impact vs Grimsby and looks like a guy that will need time to adapt to the game in England. Was also pretty much anonymous in 2nd half vs Fulham.

Have to say it's depressing to see Dalot start

I just can't be OK with playing a newly promoted team, at Old Trafford, with no striker.

Has anyone asked at a presser (and if not, why not) why Sesko is being babysat so much? He's treating him like a squad player. He only missed 2 pre season games. His fitness shouldn't be that bad. And yet he's getting 30 minute cameos in the league and only starting in the Carabao.

Also even if he's definitely not fit or nursing an injury, all the more reason we should have another striker.

I've no idea but having g Dalot ahead of Dorgu who is objective rubbish on the left is just stupid. Also, that midfield gives me nightmares. Neither should be starting after how they've played this season.

He's probably less fit now than when he arrived. Has 50 league minutes I think

Looks like Amorim is sticking with the same formation that doesn't work.

It could also be Amad at LWB, seeming as he's left footed and all

Dorgu not being able to cross his legs is the reason he's not playing. Dalot while limited might link up play better.

Any chance at all its a back four?

    Altay

    Dalot MDL Yoro Shaw

    Case

    Bruno Mount

    Amad Mbuemo Cunha

Wednesday was an opportunity for him to claim a starting place today. He had the least amount of touches, lost the most duels, was dispossessed 3 times, missed a big chance. It was very poor overall.

I’d be okay with him starting today but also okay with him not starting, given his performance mid-week. He needs to earn his place and do better with the minutes he’s given. The manager is under pressure and needs a win, he’s picked players who he thinks will get that done today. I doubt it’s fitness related at all.
