It's fine for what they'll be used for, the smallest go in the 3rd row, the price is what's going to swing it for a lot of people, the reviewer even said it may be uncomfortable on a long drive, the only long drive we have in ireland is mizen to mallen if you could even call it that by Chineese standards.

That’s not correct, only Hong Kong and Macau do.

Hence this wonder of a junction, Lotus Bridge, Macau.

I see now why it's a 2+2+2 rather than a 2+3+2 configuration. Some nice new touches about the cabin over the current MY and I think this would be a big hit over here.

    I think it looks great!

But, and here’s the thing. Could Tesla have redesigned it slightly and gave it a new name to increase their range of cars available?

Like Hyundai for example, Tuscan, then up to the Santa Fe.

I love it, hopefully it's here in around 2 1/2 years when my PCP is up 😂 and before the kids have our grown it.

Fooling around with a teslamate instance installed on my Synology nas and a custom home assistant card, happy with how it turned out !

The kids found a little black round button in behind the external door handle when you open it.

We've no idea what it does 😕. Any one know?

Good old chat GPT, it's not a button but a pressure sensor that opens the door latch when it feels the release.

Presumably the seats in row 3 are fold flat seats when not in use?

    Similar to most 7 seaters.

Yeah, they would be. I think you would still fit a small buggy in there with the third row up, or fold 1 of them flat if more space is needed. Still would prefer the option of a 7 seat config.

Anyone got the older style model y in performance? Any reviews

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 1,639 ✭✭✭talla

Had one for two years, very fast as you expect from a performance model but you rarely get a chance to use it. All round a good car but the suspension is very hard, uncomfortable around town - you feel every slight bump in the road.

If you are mainly going to driving about town / city, then I would recommend taking a look at the LR AWD variant instead.

Hi everyone! Just want to check for people who owns the MY juniper especially LR RWD how did you able to get quote for your car insurance when you don't have the registration of the vehicle yet. I can't get any quotations to different insurance company until I get a registration. But I don't want to order it and car is ready then they'll quote my insurance to be astronomical as well.

Take a reg from a car on DoneDeal or outside Tesla service station.

    FYI

Supposed to be an announcement of the new MYP this Friday.

I have searched online carzone and done deal. No luck with MY Juniper LR RWD. I was thinking of using the ones used by journalist in car reviews. I know they're the launch edition and would probably insurance will cost like a bomb. But I think that's the nearest I can get.

I used car review reg plates from irish YouTube videos, Nobby and Nevo I think for the Tavascan and Renault 5 this year as they were both only just launched when I bought. Some reg plates on pre reg cars visible on donedeal wouldnt work for me.

Was a bit of hassle, the tavascan came back on my cert as an ID4 which I called them up about and they said was fine the underwriters said they'd class it as ID4.

Renault 5 they couldn't find car on the system and in the end it was (incorrectly) listed as a Renault R5 on their database which threw them out.

It can be hassle insuring a just launched model for sure.

I agree! I saw Nobby tested a MY juniper with dual motor at least not the launch edition so I'd say that would be the nearest I can go for. I'll be ringing around today and see what they'll quote me. 🤦🏽‍♂️

I'd still have to see how much wall charger would cost me as I live in an apartment complex but at least we have designated parking spaces. After this hurdles… I'm all set to order my first ever electric car.

Just an update… I was talking to a lot of insurance company this morning. So far the most expensive one I got was €1,200 and the cheapest was €937.11 from Allianz. This is crazy! It’s like I’m back in provisional licence 19 years ago! Any other insurance company anyone can recommend? I have tried SuperValu, AnPost, Aviva, AA, Chill, evinsurance.ie, kennCo quotes are astronomical! What’s everyone using for insurance? Please do let me know and I’ll try ring them.

I’m 20 odd years driving cars. Dublin sub. Insurance circa €600 renewed a month ago. I moved from a 222 M3 RWD to a new MYJ LR AWD. The difference was €100 more than if I was renewing with the M3. Aviva

New quotes were a couple hundred more.

Is this expensive insurance just for Tesla's or electric cars in general ?

    I drive a Phev myself.

Got a new M3 highland in April, from a Hyundai ioniq 5- quotes were a lot more expensive alright until I tried Aviva and got a great deal.👍
