help with Alternator wiring

    Hello Folks,

    putting this alternator into an old machine but cannot figure the wiring.

    No marks or indications on the alternator only "B" which is obvious anyway as its the power output post. Need to know which is the "exciter" terminal and which is the "voltage sense" terminal. And whats the wire which comes out through the casing.

    That looks like a prehistoric Hitachi. Has it a built in regulator? If not,you could find something easier to wire. Maybe a Lucas type.
