Just bought some right now and applied them to my account. 50% extra gets added with "service charges" so a family plan is now €12 per month.

This is only my second month using the gift cards after my Curve card was rejected.

Not sure what other people are doing but last month I set up an account & validated my Irish mobile number. This time it detected I had a VPN on when I tried to pay but when I switched off payment to the Revolut card went through fine.

However, under no illusions that we are approaching end game with this.

I just tried on phone there . No vpn and let them see my location. . Took a min or two but went through

Added another 300TRY giftcard from Turgame to account. €9.30 total price. Paid via Revolut card, payment went through first time. No issues. Service fee a killer. Still cheaper than Ireland.

Ps.No VPN was on for any of the above.

Just posting this again for anyone looking for turgame alternatives:

    Ok result!
    I bought 2x 250TRY credit off G2a.com at $8.39 each which is $8.39x2=$16.78 which is €14.40.

For the premium this will get me a month as it’s 500TRY/379.99=1.32 months.

I didn’t want to get anymore in case I get the boot.

The 850TRY vouchers for $34.11 were the cheapest (0.0315c per unit) but were all sold out.
The 250TRY vouchers for $8.39 came in second place (0.0335c per unit).

Just about got a gift card off Turgame this morning.

Converted currency to Turkish Lora on revolut and used virtual card. It said payment failed but got the email with code and payment went through then.

    It's certainly getting more difficult

    and

Zero need to convert currency, you might save about 3 cents. I've always paid in Euros via Revolut, never an issue. Goes through first time.

Just got another email from Netflix about updating my payment details or having my account cancelled. Looks like the end is near for me.

I'll never understand this carry on from the streaming services. We're obviously very willing to pay reasonable prices but instead they'll force us to stop that and resort to sailing the seven seas instead because they've decided we should pay extortionate amounts here.

I mean, to be fair if they leave it go unchallenged it just means their cheapest price around the world would just be increased to account for travellers sampling the goods. And if they set their prices based on rich countries like Ireland then nobody in Turkey would subscribe. According to Wikipedia, the average net monthly salary in Turkey is €507 versus €3349 here.

So they have to be able to charge based on local purchasing power and have to be able to protect their income too. It sucks though, but if the majority of customers will pay the prices, they'll keep them high in Ireland. I know I've switched to only subscribing to services for a month or 2 at a time, watch what I need and then cancel again, bouncing between the providers. If more did that then maybe prices would come down...

It's lunacy. I've been a paying netflix subscriber since it first launched at €6.99. I was willing to continue to pay for it indefinitely at a reasonably price i.e. <€10. It's now €23.99 for an interior catalogue of shows and movies to when it launched and I can no longer share it with my family.

Disney went the same way before it. It's the same nonsense as Sky, keep raising the price, driving more and more people to piracy until there's feck all people actually subscribed.

Has anyone who got this email been cut off for not adding a payment method with a card, I got mine maybe 2 months or more now. And still running on the gift cards I've on account and just ignored the email.

Is my account gonna just drop off some day soon and I loose my giftcards? Everyone here seems to be still working away with giftcards and still able to add them.

From what I can tell, Netflix have decided to stop officially selling gift cards in Turkey, so once retailers stock run out, that'll be it.

Up until then, sold gift cards should be fine.

That's my understanding of what's happening anyway.

Even though I'm good up until October, I've more of less abandoned the platform anyway, Stremio with Realdebrid and a Trakt account is 100% the way forward guys, I've wasted money for years with all the streaming apps, when that (stremio) does them altogether in one simple place.

Do you have any solid guide? If so can you pls pm?

My netfix giftcard also run up until october and no matter what i had enough paying those greedy b...rds. tia

What does Trakt do exactly? Stremio keeps track of what episode I'm on and let's me know when there's a new episode. Does Trakt have additional functionality?

(Lazy man's response via Chat GPT)

Trakt is a service that helps you track, discover, and manage your TV shows and movies across different streaming platforms and media players.

    Here’s what it does:

Scrobbling: When you watch something on supported apps (like Kodi, Stremio, Plex, or Jellyfin), Trakt automatically logs it to your account.

Watch history: Keeps a timeline of everything you’ve watched, so you can always see what episode or movie you last left off on.

Progress tracking: Shows how far you are into TV series and what’s next to watch.

Personal lists & collections: Lets you create custom watchlists, track your digital library, and manage what you plan to watch.

Recommendations & discovery: Suggests shows or movies based on your watching habits and ratings.

Syncing across devices: If you use multiple apps or devices, Trakt keeps everything in sync.

Social features: You can follow friends, share what you’re watching, and compare watch stats.

Basically, it’s like a universal watch log and recommendation engine that works behind the scenes with your media apps

I’d love to know what and how on the other options as well as it looks like the end is near with gift cards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,406 ✭✭✭cullenswood

So, should we load up on giftcards to last a few years?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,320 ✭✭✭ablelocks

very risky - they could close your account and not refund you, and this has happened other boardsies as you can see in previous posts.

i plan to keep going as long as i can with gift cards, but will add cards mid-cycle rather than towards the end of the period. might help avoid (one of?) the red flags that seem to trigger account closure

Are there any countries other than Turkey where you can get gift cards at a low price?

That Turgame service charge is excessive.

I loaded two more 250tl gift cards last night to my account, I am now good until 31st Dec appartantly. Netflix have confirmed that they are no longer offering gift cards as a payment option in Turkey

    https://help.netflix.com/en/node/32950/tr

I can see those who have stocks of them left putting them up and up in price in the short term while people scramble to get the last of them. this is where I got my 2 x 250tl last night cost me €14.15 compared to €17.81 on g2a just over €16 on Turgame. Turgame seem to have the most cards left at the minute

So is this the end of the road?

Irish sub or stremio being the only options?

You are a khaki coloured bombardier, it's Hiroshima that you're nearing.

Purchased gift cards from Turgame yesterday and went to apply them today but when I enter the code on Netflix it says “an error occurred. Refresh or try again later”. Did anyone successfully apply them today? Or is this the end of the road for them and just lie at the loss of the gift cards?
