Another interesting article on EVs. Or maybe not.

"Dublin", "West Cork", "first service station", "second planned charging location", no mention of the EV or battery size. He's being vague to the point that no analysis or learning can come from the reading the article. And I say that as someone who thinks the EV charging network needs to be improved.

Also why did it take a full charge and 40 minutes at a charger to do a roughly 350km journey?

Most degradation happens in the first 3 years so that should work well for your purposes.

My new car will be kept for many more than 3 years. 6 years at minimum. Would have happily kept my other car, but I needed something a bit taller I could slip in and out of. A car accident and injury forced the change.

I had the M3 for 3 years. Saved about 5 grand conservatively on fuel compared to a similar ICE. Upgrading to a new Model 3 would have cost me 13k to change. With the saving on fuel, I would have only been looking at an 8k loss for moving up if I wanted to look at it another way. I'm just thankful I was in a position to change to what I needed.

When you're looking to change your car, there should be plenty of suitable older EVs if that suits you. Do your research and ignore bar stool talk from lads in wooly jumpers. 🐑
