    Decided on this little ninja classic.

    Played it on the c64 many years ago .

    I've only played the excellent PC engine port. It was a lot of fun.

    I was never exposed to this game at all over the years. I never hit on the arcade version of this out in the wild back in the day, and I never played any of the home conversions either...

    I must read up on this game. Regardless, I'm up for giving it a rattle! 👍

    How have I never played this before? It's absolutely brilliant. Basically an Irem shmup but you're a ninja!

    Managed to not die till the level 2 boss but he got me. Was then absolutely knackered without my power ups on the next two lives.

    Apparently you can put full names in which is rather interesting. For the purpose of this I shall be Oisssssssss

    Jebus ,fair play.

    Yeah it's a little gem .

    I managed to get one credit and lasted less than 2 minutes .

    Reading about it there and all ports were made easier than the arcade as so many complained about one hit kills and just the 2 life's.. 😬

    Will try get time and have another few credits later . Weapon choice from beginning is brilliant .

    Oh arw there only meant to be two lives? I'm playing the Japanese version on Mister. Were definitely three.

    Must see if there are different variants

    Life one is where it all happens if you can stay alive as you get so many power ups.

    They're gone on subsequent lives so you're kind of fecked. Reminds me of Gradius in that regard!

    Yeah I had only 2 , just checked .

    Couldn't be arsed dragged out the cab to get to the dip switches to check versions and difficulty as me back is fooked today . Shall investigate tomorrow

    Fired it up in MAME there on my PC as a matter of interest, had three lives on default and normal. Weird!

    This game is completely new to me, so I'm just warming up to it with some practice runs over my lunch break

    Getting serious Legend of Kage and Rygar vibes off this game. I'm feeling it.

    Ok playing on normal now , I've managed to get further than 2 mins in !! Got to third level on first go ..had 3 lives and bloody lost them all quickly

    Absolute fluke getting by second level boss ,was just jumping around like a mad thing .

    Anyway first pathetic score in the board

    Never heard of, or played this before. I have learned that I really suck at this game.

    I keep dying on level 1 … some scurvy footpad under the floor reaches out and tickles me to death … I have no idea how to hit him. Every time I want to change weapons, I have to stop, and something kills me.

    Enjoying it … I think I might need to watch a playthrough … I'm just not getting something

    Use the sword and stab down at them little hunchbacks . I used the sword for the whole level . It deflects shrukiens also

    I also just copped one of the weapons always flashes if not selected . I presume it's a tip that it's the best one to use for the scenario . Didn't seem right in some areas though .

    Will ya get up out of that watching playthrough nonsense now 👊 try using the old noodle like we used have to do back in days of yore. Unless ya got a walkthrough in zapp magazine or the likes

    Very true , always one lad that lived in the arcade . Never played , but when they did the 10p would last an eternity on any game .

    I remember being amazed seeing a lad 1cc double dragon . Just elbows and headbutts ..didn't even know the head but existed .

    On other hand ,the feeling of being a god when you played a game and you had people looking at you . Actually don't think I have got that feeling in life ever again ...sad 😂 sf2 gave that to me . Winner plays on. Ohhh yeah

    Feeling like a God playing a game and having people looking at you? I experienced that feeling briefly before getting seven shades of s#1te kicked out of me at the Mortal Kombat II tournament at Base Arcade Belfast a few months back. 🤕🤒

    This is a great game, can't believe I never played it before now

    It's like a cross between Nemesis / Gradius, and Kung Fu Master by way of Atomic Runner

    I'm slowly making progress … learning when to use the right weapons is key, and the tip on the flashing weapon really helped.

    Still getting sh1te scores, and still struggling to get past level 3 … but it's a good game :)

    Gave it few coins earlier . Couldn't get past level 2,😢 I also coped with that thingy bobber on a rope weapon powered up you can spin it around ...quite handy!
